2014 and it was what we found with mileage and cost we wanted. Our previous was a 1997==don't remember what level.

In the 1997 we did a 2 week trip with a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) and a GSP, camping and fly fishing gear. Very memorable, if crowded! NorCal and eastern OR. Woulda been 2000-2001.

If towing, the 4Runner will be better as well as more cargo space.

Xreas handles great, but 20s don't help ride. I'm going to 17s and replacing Xreas for better everything. Hopefully. Mine has been leaking a while but works. Feels clunky in cold weather. More tire sidewall usually means better ride.

I guess 10 years is not bad (assuming its 2013 4Runner?) for it to start leaking yet works. I have tried few suspensions including damn expensive ELKA 2.5DC, but nothing was good as XREAS on pavement. But $4000 for XREAS (I think) vs $4000 for ELKA (2 front coil overs + 2 rear shock. rear springs and other parts to be purchased separately as needed) , I'll pick ELKA for OK onroad comfort and really good off pavement comfort.

Many other cheaper yet good suspension like Kings, Dobinson MRR, Fox 2.5DCS, etc vs spending to replace XREAS. IMO. :)

I wish I could find a new one for whatever around $40k is. About to spend $37k on a 22 SR5P with 40k miles. Best deal I can find, especially since I want third row seats.
