Worthless Sh!t To Put On Your 4Runner!

Im working on the road in Vegas, so I dont have my ext hdd stash. Certain angles look horrible, others look good.
I like this one. I'll see if I have one thats taken from straight on somewhere. Edit: but don't look at the useless stuff on the rack, that goes up there because I do actually take it off road.

You guys aren't trying hard enough.

 

A very valid point. I'm always solo when I'm out driving on jeep trails or off-road, so I'm particularly cautious and don't get into situations that are too sketchy. Especially since the truck is also my daily driver, and in some instances my house, so I do fit in quite a bit of fun exploration, but I stay away from the stuff that's beyond my skill level. I use Oddball's theory from Kelly's Heroes; I like to know that I can get out of trouble faster than I got into it.

For me, it's been interesting. The first year or two, I never got stuck. Between a lot of solo trips, and inexperience, I avoided anything I had any doubts about. I got really good at backing out of trails.

Once I got a winch and armor, I took more chances and got stuck a bunch. Now that I have a little experience, I get through things I might have gotten stuck on previously. It's been a fun experience!

 

I’ve only used my boards once, and it was to help convince a guys wife he needed them. But they didn’t help him in the snow.

I’ve used my winch about a dozen times and now drive around with a few soft shackles at all times now.

 

Where there's a will there's a way. Maybe 10 feet from pavement.

 

^Traction boards won't be enough here. Need to be winched out.

I find traction boards are most effective in situations where you aren't buried but can't move forward due to the slippery surface. Shallow snow with ice underneath, rock ledge covered in wet mud, etc.

#3 How about that $300 shovel? Mine cost $2 at a garage sale and digs just fine.

Not bad at all. To be honest, the holes on the bumper itself don't really bother me at all, but I like that you have the side panels filled in.

 

That's a perfect solution of usefulness, especially the recovery points.

 

Flintstone mod anyone?

 

If the passenger side is that bad, it would make a drain and fill that much easier.
