The seven-hour plane crash Trail. I have never checked it out yet. I believe it starts around Crandon and works its way up to the Keweenaw peninsula. But I would have to double-check the map. Could make for a fun weekend!

There are plenty of good spots around there.

Im actually going to be rolling into Mountain between 10:30-11:30 on Oct 1st, give or take (this is the plain old town of Mountain on the south end of the chequamegon forest). I’m coming up from the Milwaukee area.

Im headed towards Bayfield as a final destination, but I am planning on hitting some of those trails for a couple hours on the way up. Let me know if you want to coordinate. Maybe we can hit up some of those trails together!

Just remember that Mountain is still about 4.5 hours from Bayfield. You'll need to be on your way by 2:30 or so if you're meeting for dinner. :hungry:

Yes dear, lol :p:p. I’ll be at camp in time for dinner.

I’m still crunching the numbers on the timing. Trying to mash as much adventure into this trip as possible. Might need to get to Mountain closer to 10. And Im wondering out loud if maybe I should meet the gang at the restaurant, then head to the campground after. Might need you to put down a lawn chair to save me a spot on the campground :D

Man alive, am I itching to get out there!

    Sorry, lol!

I just thought of that because I was really tempted to join you. But, after looking at the drive times, it was just too tight. I didn't realize it was quite that much further.

Something to consider is that Mountain is less than 2.5 hours from where we're staying Saturday night. So, it would be pretty easy to get there by lunchtime on Sunday and have a few hours to dick around.

Hmmmm, now I'm thinking about it...

If you decide to go this route instead, it sounds like there are some cool forest roads in Bayfield worth checking out. I might roll through a few of them on Friday if I get up there early enough.

Picnic Point, Medford. It's on the same floor which we camped on a few years ago with Jerry and his crew. Picnic point is a large group site right on the water. It is one of my favorite campsites I've ever stayed at.

Are you thinking about joining us?

I'm actually very excited about staying at Picnic Point on Saturday. We used to host a group trip there in out 20's. It's such a beautiful little flowage! I might bring my kayak and throw it in on Sunday.

I may have to bring the hounds. This'll be an interesting experiment with the two of them. Apologies in advance if they annoy anyone.

I better clean it up a bit if I decide to park it in there. It's still packed with camping gear and dirty from last weekend.
