I'd love to hear their definition of "off-road."

I predict that predictions of the 4R's imminent demise won't end in 2024, either.

PROOF ANOTHER SALES PERSON JUST PEDDLING BS, TRYING TO GET ORDERS, "BEFORE ALL THE 4RUNNERS ARE GONE"

We all knew the 6th gen was coming, just very slowly.

NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER, LISTEN TO A SALESPERSON, they just spew BS to get a sale today, ask a question, they just spew BS to get a sale today, ETC.

Always, I repeat, always listen to a salesperson (listening doesn't require action). There is a plethora of information in what they are, or are not saying. Nothing is gained by not listening and you will have nothing to verify and help you make your best decision based on your needs. If the salesperson is shitty it speaks volumes about the company, if they are great it gives you insight. But its still your choice.

    Trust but verify!

Of course, a salesperson replied to my post, go figure.

As enthusiasts that visit automotive forums, 90% of the time we know more about the model we are interested in than the salesperson. Simply ask them a question, that you know the answer to, and quickly see, 90% of the time they don't know or most likely will make up a BS answer to try to convince the unknowing of their knowledge.

Let's not get started on the BS they try to upsell to the unknowing, nitrogen tires, VIN etching, pinstriping, overpriced maintenance and warranty contracts with severe limitations, etc.

It does not take a rocket scientist to know 90% of car salespeople are dishonest, best of luck finding the 10% good ones.

Salesperson? lol Just encouraging free thought and the power of listening, even if someone is "dishonest".

Agreed, we absolutely know more about the model we are interested in than the salesperson at a dealership. But we get insight into the dealer when speaking with the sales person. Which is important when dealing with any warranty issues, concerns or even pricing.

    Even liars can be useful.

Whether your salesman is good or bad says very little about the company. It's a high turnover profession and the company they are representing has virtually nothing to do with it.

my salesman doesnt even try anymore. he knows i know more than everyone there except maybe the sae techs. i just come in, tell him what i want and talks to the general manager and we either do into dealerdaily to configure what i want or lets me know what is going on. we dont waste each others time and he can go sweet talk someone else.

my family has bought like 17 vehicles from the toyota dealer in town in 30+ years and watch it changed hands 3 times and moved from the north of town to the middle of town then finally south of town.

and ive had the same salesman for the last 15+ years.

IMO, so much of our purchasing has been depersonalized that it's refreshing to buy something from or through someone for a change.

yeah i have an older salesman. he really doesnt have to even try to sell a vehicle. i mean he has people call him and say, i want a 105k demon and he just processes the paperwork and sell it to the guy while the guy is in arizona on a trip. it was sitting in the showroom floor blocked off sold and his daughter was going to come by and pick it up.
