Guys! Sorry but where's all the fun? My SR5 Premium does what I want, when I want. Wish it had a 4WD shift lever, though rather that that darn dial!

Good choice, I would have said #2 as well even though I don't care about the Moonroof. More to customize your self and no fluff added.

I have had my rear window down every day since I got the 4Runner over a month ago and never once smelt any fumes at all. Do you have a different exhaust/tip that protrudes further than stock?

I had all of my windows tinted, including the sunroof. Best thing I've ever done.

My main application for having the rear window down is airflow while sleeping. Second most important is hauling stuff long enough to stick out the back that I don't want to bother strapping to the roof.

Do you have a pro? if so your exhaust goes out the side. The Off road tip goes straight out the back. I suspect that increases the amount of exhaust fumes sucked in via the open rear window.

That Off Road Upgrade Package is what would stop me from either of those vehicles.

I bought the '21+ TRDpro wheels and centercaps from the dealer at $960. The wildpeak tires in stock size were $700. Install and TPMS swap was $200. Husky mats inc cargo tray were $300 (iirc) and black overlay badges were $75 from the dealer. That's $2235 in total and then I sold my stock wheels and tires for $700. Net is $1535. The extra $2000 can buy you a decent lift.

The wife and I just read you horror story from May 20th and was wondering if you were reimbursed from Valvoline, and have you gotten your 4Runner back.

The side windows (at least a pair of them) have to be cracked or open when the rear hatch window is open. You can open and close them until you dial in a perfect neutral airflow that is quiet and gentle. Opening the rear by itself will gas you out.

After a week of harassing the dealer (Lithia Toyota of Klamath Falls) for a week, we just got an estimate Thursday. We forwarded that to Valvoline last night (Manager requested it and said it was very possible that their maintenance was faulty). He may not see it until Monday or so. Lithia still has the rig and won't give us an estimate on how long. They just got the replacement parts this week. I am keeping up the pressure on social media as much as I can (4Runners of Washington on Facebook, Lithia's Facebook page, etc.). Oregon's Consumer Affairs website is not very user-friendly, so that resort is down the line a ways.

Thanks for asking. Fortunately, we received a large tax refund and had a minimum withdrawal from my Thrift Plan this year. We had reserved an Alaskan cruise, but other issues were interfering (our friends cancelled, our dog sitter is expecting and due when we would be gone, etc.==besides, they won't let me fish for halibut off the stern!), so we have the money although we REALLY feel we shouldn't be out of pocket for it! If we are reimbursed, we'll likely put it towards a halibut trip next year!

Seriously, anyone who is worried about the moonroof leaking must have owned some pieces of shit with moonroofs. It's not going to be an issue. If you want the extra headroom, I get it.

Edit - (For those who don't know, it was leaking and fixed under warranty.)

Surprised opinions on moonroofs are so split lol

I would never own a vehicle without a moonroof. I enjoy it way too much. And as a taller guy, y’all know the seats lower…right?

I'm sure there are crappy moonroofs out there, but I had a 16 year old Lexus with moonroof, and never had a single issue.
Personally, if I had the option, I would always choose moonroof. I am average height so not an issue in that aspect.
Moonroof is a must in AZ summers to let the hot air escape when parked in the shade (cracking the windows open also works but not as well)
Also when I go camping, I open the moonroof when the weather allows it and put a mosquito net over it, so I get nice fresh air when sleeping in the car

Like others have said, MTM is nice for parking and can be useful off-roading when going over a hill on a very steep incline to see what's on the other side (instead of staring at the sky) if no one is there to spot you.
However the resolution is garbage so not useful to see small details like tire placement on rocks, etc...

2014 Jeep Cherokee with panoramic roof- no issues.
2019 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack- No issues.
2021 Kia K5 GT- No issues.

I've seen all the videos of peoples sun/ moonroofs blowing up driving down the road. Not enough negatives that outweigh the benefits, for me.

Don't stick your head where it doesn't belong and there won't be any issues! Yes, I know you were commenting on another person's post. ( not directing it at you ) Kind of like the people who stick their arms out the window and get them lopped off, due to hitting another vehicle or object. Don't do stupid stuff and you won't win stupid prizes.

I posted on another thread about the moonroof on my wife's company car (late 80's, early 90's). The (invisible) leakage caused thousands of 90's dollars in electrical gremlins over the years, which her company covered. They sold it for peanuts when the associated rust finally started showing.

Even so, she loves the feature and she's had one on every car since with no problems. That's one of the reasons I rolled the dice on my 4R.

I have a '23 ORP and it's a mix of #1 and #2. Has moon roof and safe. Does not have KDSS.

I’ve had it open with everything open, and seems to be more speed related. Stopped at a light is noticeable, faster than 60 kph is noticeable. A few local guys who say they don’t notice anything, been driving for years with no issue “they say”. Then I see the headliner near back window is dark, lol.

Just got a call that the "Blue Beast" is ready. Rent a car tomorrow, leave Friday, pick it up Friday evening or Sat morning, see some petroglyphs outside of Klamath Falls, leave Sunday, stay over in Bend and head home. Road construction on the "Rez", so we'll have to detour.

I love the transfer lever! It makes it so unique, even though my wife hates it. She would have preferred a dial

100%. My wife hates it too. I change from 2wd - 4wd - 2wd from the passenger seat when my wife is driving.
