It already has 33's, a steel bumper, and winch. I'd drive it as is for a year or two and then upgrade.

I am very impressed by the 4Runner. With A-Trac engaged and 15 psi I have never felt the need for the locker. Just playing with throttle is all it takes. Though my approach and departure angles keep me worried lol. That can be solved with full steel bumpers.

Wrangler on 33s looks cute and funny. You will go for 35s next day I promise lol.

I know what they look like. I also know you don't need 35's to wheel.

This was my first dip into the 4R and I have to say I'm so impressed with ATRAC. For what it is it's absolutely amazing. I haven't wished I had a front locker yet. BUT I have on more than one occasion gotten stuck due to not having enough wheel flex lol. The angles as you mentioned and wheel flex are the achilles heel of the 4Rs lol. But the traction system is phenomenal.

It took me awhile to learn how A-Trac works. You need to feel it. I even turn the radio off when I am using A-Trac lol

It must be difficult to have to play along with all of the BS right now. You have to be a politician to be a CEO.

I've been a big fan ever since my locker quit working. Who knew ABS would eventually lead to off-road badassery?

No idea. It got stuck engaged on a trip last year. After getting it to disengage, it no longer engages. I haven't needed it enough to fix it yet.

I read that they can get screwed up if water gets into them, so it probably has something to do with that.

That makes me a bit nervous. Thankfully we don't get a lot of water here in AZ lol. Still have plenty of warranty left too.

I'm not paying a shop. I'll fix it eventually. Or, I'll regear it and put in a better locker in a year or two.

That's the kind of wheeling I do, and A-Trac never disappoints. That kind of trail will make crossovers scream with no results.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't do a lot of dirty water crossings. I also think there's a way to relocate the breather.

Deep water crossings demand fluid diff changes too, I am not a fan.

It's really not as much of a concern as it's made out to be. I've driven through a lot of water. I've changed my fluid after that incident, and it was fine; no sign of water intruding.

Not in good shape as the other one, but it is also cheaper, has 35s and steep bumper and winch. And I want it even cheaper. Negotiating. Wish me luck!

Damn, the thing doesn't want to go over 2500 rpms, check engine light showed up, the fan was screaming. Somehow drove it back to the dealer. It is off and the fan still running. I am still hopeful. Told the guy to call me once the problem is diagnosed and fixed. I can get this thing dirt cheap after this bad start :)

Gave the guy a $20 bill as tip, and a five star on google, fantastic oil change they did, right in front of me. I couldn't have done it better. Feeling great now on this 230 mile drive home doing 80 mph.
Give your truck nice and clean oil folks, don't treat it like that poor Jeep. If that 4.0 inline 6 was treated with care, the thing would be rolling strong now.
