    I just picked up 6 OEM filters from the dealership for $4.41 each before sales tax. Good enough for me.

    That’s a great price. I guess the fact they’re mass produced allows a manufacturer who charges $12 for a bolt (figuratively speaking) to sell oil filters for such a low price.

    I hadn’t seen that. My fever has resolved and I’m returning to OEM. Yes, I sold my stash, but for enough $ to cover replacing it using a local dealer’s online discount. Still seems odd that the Toyota/Denso filters perform poorly in tests but I think I ended up trying to solve a nonexistent problem.

    YouTube has a ton of biased people, I watch quite a few channels “Project Farm” being one of my favorites for reviewing stuff.

    I’ll stick to what I am comfortable with, 285k it must be working so far. As long as I keep getting OEM oiled filters cheaper than others I will use them forever.
