Taking the SR5 to the dealer today to have a 2nd key cut and 2nd Fob programmed.

 

What did I do to my 4Runner today inquiring minds wanna ask?

Simple. Drove it to work. Save $$$ on this card holiday by making money.

I found another amazing deal on used shit I've been looking for and paid a deposit until I pick them up this weekend! I got the OR Trail wheels with only 1k miles on them for $400 total! I think these are almost $400/wheel on BAM. I don't know if I am more excited about this or the deal I had on the sliders.

 

Transmission drain and fill. ~ 3 qt came out.

 

Which year ORWs?

 

The rumbling noise coming from under the truck, from the transfer case area was indeed because of the RCI skid plate. But not because there is something wrong with the design of that skid plate, but because there were a bunch of rocks there and some wood, that I had to clean. And now the noise is completely gone.
Clean that area after wheeling so that stuff don't mess with the exhaust. Happy wheeling!

 

I think their vehicle was a 22 but I believe they have been available for a long time, they are just not a very common option which is sad as they are the best all around oem 4Runner wheel imo (wider/protect valve stem/easier to clean/color).

 

Some inconsiderate narcissist a-holes let go of a shopping cart about 10 feet up an incline from my parked 7-month old, pristine condition 4R.

I've got video. Wish me luck with their auto and/or renter's insurance.

Did an oil change tonight, lubed all grease fittings, new wiper blades and reapplied antiseize on all skid plate bolts, etcs. So nice not fighting stuck bolts. Keep up on the antiseize boys and girls, you’ll thank yourself down the road!

The amount of excitement and affection that car care nut has for the 5th gen 4Runner is unbelievable. I wonder why he doesn't have one, somebody tell him to buy one before it's gone.
I wish I could go back in time and buy myself a brand spanking new TJ Wrangler. Because my excitement and affection for the TJ is also next level

 

Does anyone ask for a propeller/drive shaft lubrication at their service department? I’m trying to follow Car Care Nut’s recommendation.

it looks like the wind fairing does not rest on the roof. Can you confirm that?

Drove the SR5 to the dealer......got a free fob/key with the purchase......dealer cut the key and programmed the fob....all works great! Took them bout an hour and $173 but now have 2 fobs/keys.

At least you got 7 months. I think I had 1 day. Parked in the empty corner of a parking lot, was in the store for 10 minutes. Came out to a scuff on one of my doors.

 

No....came with one. Found out on the forum here only 1 fob is provided. Got the dealer to throw in a new fob/key. While browsing I found this thread here where it was talked over.https://www.4runners.com/threads/only-1-key-fob-delivered.31887/

 

Damn dealerships!! I got 2 when i bought my 2022.

 

From the reading I've done looks like the key fob debacle was for 4Runners manufactured I believe November-December 2022. That's my take but might be wrong! Possible other models of Toyota were included in this timeframe!

 

Mine came W/2 every new vehicle I've bought since 1985 always came W/2 keys or robs. My wife's BMW came W/2

 

When I called the dealer to set up programming for the fob and cutting the key he said he'd try and get the 2nd fob/key covered under warranty....nope! When he submitted it they declined. Bastages!

 

yeah got my vehicle April 2023 with two keys.

 

The side rails do not but the deflector does.
Installed a strip of 3m tape under the lip and I'll check it a few times a year.
The rack is solid no motion and the front foot design locks into the rain gutter, so there is not rattle or bounce. I expect no wear on the tape over time.
It is a very well designed mounting system.
