Thank you. Going to look good with the light setup Derek!! Yeah I have new SCS wheels with westcott lift waiting. Have my diode amber fogs to add. I cannot wait till i can just take my good old time and not rush trying to get something done before work or after work. Tired of working 7 days a week for a lot of years. Time to enjoy.

I would love to be able to see into future, or time travel.
So all of those lights aren't actually gunna be all installed, 2-4 won't make the cut. To be clear.
Prolly adding 2 lights to the grille to pair with the Light Bar (same circuit).
Prolly installing 2-4 roof rack side mounted scene lights, 2-4 secondary hazards, and a chase light triangle

 

Congratulations on your impending retirement. I built my 4runner as a retirement gift to myself when I was able to retire in April of 23. Well done Don!

While doing some research on amps, I stumbled on this little item. It's a small amp from BeatSonicUSA. Haven't installed it yet (job for Thursday).

Had to do a fair amount of DIY for a fast, cheap, compact air setup. Was tempted to mount it somewhere but decided to keep it portable.

 

^You could change the alligator clips to an Anderson plug, to avoid opening the hood to air up. Put a 100A breaker on the vehicle side.

 

I had this for a while for my model year 4runner. Definite improvement over the stock head unit. The highs are crisper and the bass hits stronger.
You will listen at much lower volume.
Very very easy install. Takes about 15 mins start to finish. Everything is plug and play.
For the price, I think it's 299, you will not be disappointed.

Those Chineseium breakers typically trip at less than half their rated current, so you'll need a brand name one (Eaton, Blue Sea) as the twin-piston compressor can draw up to 90A. I run a

$48 Bussmann (BP/CB185-100) 100 Amp Circuit Breaker

Eaton P/N BP/CB185-100 breaker in my Tacoma:



It's convenient to press the button to open the breaker and de-power the circuit for servicing.

For some, $300 seems very steep for some to justify an amp. Some people want to rock out with their c**k out with music. Which is fine. Personally, I prefer to listen to some at a comfortable as a I drive. I listened to a couple different radio stations (newer country, older country, rock, jazz) and it definitely gives the head unit (plus my new kicker speakers) a nice overall volume. And the tone is more clear.

As far as installation goes, if you watched the video from my previous post, it's pretty much as simple as taking the radio out, running the wires, adjusting the gain to what is suitable for you, put radio back in, and off ya go! It's not difficult at all.

If you do have an older 4R with older style set up, they do have an amp for that as well (after doing some digging around). In fact, they have a couple of different set up choices. Here is their YT channel if you wanna dig around:

It didn't seem worth the hassle; I'll take a few seconds to open the hood for now. Good time to check the oil while the compressor is doing its thing.

Finally replaced the Limited underbite bumper cover with the trail cover. Had to get rid of the braces look.

 

Scheduled Krown undercoating for next week. Little nervous about the need to drill holes, but understand why. Shop has a very good reputation, so that helps.

 

Just ordered a 2.5 front 1.5 rear Bilstein 6112\5100 ome springs with a spc uca for my 2018 limited. I have 5 trd pro rims matt grey and will be putting 265\70\17 falken wildpeaks at3 on them. Now what to do with my old 20 rims and 1 like new spare tire.

 

Nice, OME springs in front too instead of clip settings? Also, FYI: those Wildpeak AT3's are being discontinued with the new AT4's,just in case you missed the news.
