Went with Nitto Terra Grapplers since I spend most time on road and they have supposedly amazing wear

I’m still going back and forth between wildpeak and toyo, although I’ve been leaning slightly towards wildpeak

I still have time to decide as I won’t change them until my stock nitto terra are done. I’ve only got 20k miles on them so probably 2 more years at least.
Also when I do change the tires, I’m still debating between keeping the stock size 265/70, going to 280/70, or 255/80

Too bad you are in AZ. Wish you were closer to Denver CO to sell my Wildpeaks P285/70R17SL on our city 4runner, the Limited. I'm pretty sure it has low miles, have to check with DT the mileage they were installed :D:D

So far I'm liking Toyo OC. BFG KO2 still my fav do it all tire and Duratrac my fav winter performer.

@kmeeg why are you selling them? You don’t like them?

I don't like to say I hate them. But if I get some decent money I want to sell them and buy something like Toyo OC.

Toyo OC, I like the onroad manners in dry and snow, but not good as Duratracs. Pretty good in gravel roads as well. What's unknown to me is rocky terrain. Haven't had a chance to test the Toyos yet. :(

If I put more trail time like I did with my TRD ORP I'm more likely to buy newer BFG KO3 because I had lot of faith on my previous KO2s.

A tire made in USA/ Canada/ Japan gives me a little comfort feeling than Chinese made.

Again, I don't hate Wildpeaks. They have decent grip even on gravel at higher speed.

i’ve had them all my 4runners (2007, 2012 & 2022) and dont have 1 negative to say about them, other than the tire price going up over the past 3-5 years.

I cant wait until my wifes General Altimax tires wear out on her Mazda CX5 so I can slap some Falken Wildpeaks on it.

Finally got around to installing my Rival skids. Old skids were beat to hell. I almost don't want to bang these ones up they are so nice lol.

If you do any type of rock crawling highly recommend the Cooper Rugged Treks. Very aggressive tread pattern, ride very smooth on the freeway and crazy grippy off road for something that isn't considered an MT.

I did an H9 bulbs conversion. Couple minutes with a Dremel and they went right in.

Cooper Discoverer on my last 4Runner, very happy W/Those. Good year has bought them out & I always liked Goodyear tires, can't say the same for Firestone.

I run the Firestone Destination LE3 . Fantastic wet performance and braking. Quite enough with good grip. I have had no issues with them. Second set, first was Destination LE2.

I've had both and am definitely a bigger fan of my current Toyo AT3's. It's not that the wildpeaks are bad, they're just unnecessarily heavier than all other AT tires. I've had the AT3 on my Tundra and now 4runner and love them.

Like I always say "It's your $ buy what you like!" :hattip:
I just remember the 721, 500 & Wilderness recalls. I had the Wilderness that came on my 98 Explorer Sport. The issue was NOT the tires, but the people NOT using the recommended PSI per door placard. Regardless I got over 60k out of them & the $$$ from Firestone class action suit.
My buddies dad worked at the Firestone Plant here in Pottstown. He sworn by the Town & Country Snow tires too.

A buddy of mine had KO3's. He said they were great on the trail, but were really loud on the hi-way.

Oops, is that the case its out of my list. Biggest reason why I sold my Duratracs.

This is what I posted on BFG's post y'day. They still don't show KO3 on their posts.

If anything, the KO3 should be the same or quieter than the KO2 given the tread spacing looks to be decreased slightly

I had this very irritating running fan noise behind the HVAC/Radio that would start the minute I would turn my key, even before starting the vehicle. Sounded like a fan with bad bearings.
I removed the radio and HVAC controls and found out it was a small fan connected to the CD player. It would turn on as soon as the key was inserted. Ripped the red power cable out and shoved foam. That POS is not moving. Most of y'all probably don't have a CD player installed so nothing to worry.
On to the next noise then....

If you pop off the right and left A/C covers and then the center A/C controls you may be able to sneak in and pop them off.
I pulled the glovebox for more access.

    Working up...
Pull right door scuff trim and kick panel
Pop the three tabs to pull off the under dash trim
Pop the little cover for the airbag left bolt and remove that 10mm bolt and the 10mm bolt on the right of the airbag
Pry/pull the top of the airbag assembly rear and down to release the 3 clips, then rotate it rearward and down. The left bolt mount hooks into the dash structure. It should hang nicely to the floor
Now you can see the 10mm bolts on the lower glovebox assembly to remove
Pop the 3 covers in the upper lip of the glovebox to remove those 10mm bolts
Pull the glovebox rear and down to release the clips holding it in (be careful of the light cable) it should hang to floor
Push the tab on the left of the blue and white connector and pull them out.
    Put it all back together
Pic is from the other thread, but I figured I would consolidate instructions here.

So I took your advice and the situation gets curiouser and curiouser.

I made an appointment at the Discount Tire in Southaven, Mississippi. Talked to one of their guys names Josh. He came out with their scanner, and hooked it up to driver side tire and in less than about 2 seconds he said the tire DID NOT have a sensor on it.

    I was like, "What?!?"

I explained to him where I bought the rims and where I had them put on (local place called Gateway Tire -- mostly in the TN/MS areas). But I also told him that when I bought those tires and rims off FB market, I SAW those sensors on those rims. He checked the other rims and they all had no readings. He even bent all 4 valve stem so much they could be folded in half. Those sensors should've kept him from bending them. He demonstrated that on another vehicle in the lot (something I didn't even consider or notice).

But what exasperates me is that for a week, the wheels were on and no issues. And then BOOM! Totally quits working.

But since the tires have to be replaced in next 10-15K miles, I'm just gonna save that money and put it towards the tires.
