I finished up adding some anodized billet bling, to brighten up that boring engine compartment. I'd had the JDM Oil Cap, Agency 6 Battery Clamp, eBay Rad Cap Cover and TRD Intake for a while, but finally found "matching" Brake Fluid Cover, Dipstick Handle and Washer Cap. They are from Boomba Racing, and are marketed for 22-24 Tundras. They also have an Oil Cap, and you can get Red, Blue, Black or Clear anodize. The Coolant Cap is designed for the Tundra Reservoir, which the 4R does not use. I also discovered that these same caps will fit my son's 2011 FJ, so likely will fit most anything with the 4 litre V6. No, I have no connection to them, but I have used their products to dress up my MX-5RF and CX-5, and have found the quality and customer service to be excellent.Ol' Leroy 01.jpg Ol' Leroy 02.jpg Ol' Leroy 03.jpg Ol' Leroy 04.jpg

I was......and still am. I don't usually carry much weight in the back.

Since no-one makes a lift coil for the rear of our trucks less than 1" (that I'm aware of), I just added a 0.5" cornfed spacer.

Ok, mass update for most of what I've done with my new to me '22 Off-Road that I purchased 10-16. I'm a Jeep person by default but now I have this, a 1st gen Taco and a few Jeeps left. I do like the dependability of Toyota vehicles. A lot of what I've done to the T4R many might scoff at but it is now what I like. One of the first things to add were AT tires to rid it of the highway rubber. I went with 285-70 17 KO2's as I've had very good results with them in the recent past. Took mild trimming and front mud flap removal and several road force balances to make it right but it is good now. No lift, none planned. I also added a cat. coverup plate and a t-case skid plate. Added some front and rear lighting including amber grille LEDs, white DRL LEDs, white switch back fang lights, LED ditch lights, LED rear flood lights and rear aux. tail/brake liftgate applique lights. I installed el cheapo roof rack cross bars, not a good choice. Installed a Fogster module for fogs on with high beam function. A Redarc brake controller also found its way in. A few other things including an electronic air horn, various anti theft measures, a CB, a 50W GMRS radio, CD player, wireless Android Auto module, a voltmeter, a console lock box, various storage idea's and a cargo cover found a home as well. That covers most, I'm sure a missed a few things. So far I like this rig much better than my Taco. Not as peppy as my 392 Wrangler though. Lol.runner tires.jpg hood decal.jpg

Damn, lots of good mods there. One thing I am interested in is that glove box organizer. I'd appreciate a link.

    Thanks,

Still tracking down a cold weather creak noise in the drivers upper windshield area.
Does not do it when warmed up an expanded.
Trying to determine if it is windshield sealant under the trim contacting the window/body frame. Gently slid the windshield trim back and applied silicone spray underneath to see if it could change/muffle the area to narrow it down.
Will be in the 30s in the A.M to test out.

Added Cornfed 1" spacers. Came out exactly as I wanted. Still a slight rake, just enough to deal with the couple hundred pounds of deer corn I haul every so often. They should come this way from the factory.

Done some dirt, rough roads and big potholes with the new springs and I'm really liking them compared to the front preload/rear spacers. Feels like I have all the travel again.

Not as firm and a little brake dive has returned, but I'll take it.

Yes, I went with the “Anytime” option. I too like the option of using high beams and fog lights.

I used a switch that I purchased with the kit. I installed it in one of the blank slots on the dash left of the steering column.

Extended the AC drain pipe to throw water on the side of the frame directly below rather than on it.
I have read that it eventually causes rusts though I am not sure if AC water will do that. But , I had the pipe lying around.

Safelite does an Air Hose trick to see if the windshield glue has been compromised.

Use the air compressor to blow air on the perimeter of the windshield on the inside. If you can feel it outside the windshield (may need a friend to help) then you know you need to fix it

That is a good idea -- my last vehicle had them completely rusted out, when I had to remove it to xfer plates. Do you just buy these from big box stores? Any other screws besides license plate ones that should be replaced?
I am gonna do it too -- I love the idea.

I've had it for over 20 years, transferring it from vehicle to vehicle. It is a Whelen 100w horn/pa system for EMS vehicles. I don't use the PA part just the horn. It is not a siren. It is quite loud to say the least. The amp unit is intended to be mounted inside but with a splash shield and mounting away from high heat it holds up where I have it. The speaker is large and very heavy but with a homemade bracket was able to be fitted behind the grille. I did have to use a zip tie (!) to steady it from vibrating and possibly cracking the brackets. I did install a relay as the current needs are pretty high. And I wired it so it works with the stock horn but I can turn it off if I just need a beep instead of a blast.4r airhorn 1.jpg 4r airhorn 2.jpg

    Lots…
4Runner is jealously eyeing our Sienna as the gets new black honeycomb grills and updated exterior trim pieces.

4R is due for wiper blades and Liquimoly fuel system cleaner today. So overall an easy but fun automotive week.
