No, it's pretty clean.

Also noticed that the steering angle display is not registering anything.

 

If you have to change them, I used the Amazon ones on my Titan and worked with no issues. Not sure if Toyota plays as nicely. But $40 roughly for a set of 4 isn't a bad way to test it out.

Other than that, I know the 4th gens had a bypass for the light. And Techstream has a spot to reprogram and set the limits for the tpms. But I've always been wearly of the legalities with messing with TPMS. So, tread lightly down that street.

No BS on the techs part. The software had him follow steps specifically listed for the 4Runner off-road. It wasn’t an up-sale, additional cost etc. Again, I saw the screens that showed the required steps. If I recall correctly, for the crawl control system.

 

You have to give us more information. "TPS threw an error and now isn't working"?? Are you saying the whole system is down - your screen doesn't show the tire pressures for each individual tire? Or is one of the sensors not showing up on the screen?

 

still sounds suspect because an alignment only deals with 4 bolts and nothing electronic around it.

 

sounds like they compromised something on the tire change.

I was actually about to post pics.

Just to clarify: the system doesn't show ANY of the readings on the tire pressure. It's all blank. I did disconnect the negative terminal, waited about 10 mins, and still didn't help. I'm just gonna say a sensor has gone bad.

 

If it's just a sensor, Discount Tire will sort it for $60 per sensor installed and programmed.
They will scan it for you for free and let you know which sensor is not transmitting.
If it's the TPMS control module which has gone bad( that's rare) then only a dealer will be able to sort it out.

Anyone do a high clearance rear bumper cut? I’m about to do the viper cuts and want to cut the rear like I did my GX.

 

I'll swing by and see what they say. Lots of anecdotes online of this issue popping up at a post-lift alignment--none that say the shop damaged anything. Meanwhile it's super annoying to drive.

Did not get their rear diff skid. Not really necessary imo. Yes, it is the lowest point, but I would just take a different line lol. I am sure it can take some punishment anyway. Didn't get the gas tank skid either. Didn't want even more weight on that side, and C4's doesn't even hardly have drainage holes for some reason.

 

I am 2” lifted in the rear and went with the shorty.

Haha thanks. It was an awesome rig. 3” lift and 35s. Sold it to a buddy and got a Tundra. I do miss it though.

 

My wife got the 4Runner and I am in a 2014 Chevy Silverado. I want a 90s Land Crusier or your model GX once my truck is toast. But I will have to figure out how to function without an arm and leg to pay for one haha

 

This mod can get you easily an extra 10hp!

 

Give it a few years until the new gx comes down in price. They fixed the ugly front grill.

 

Got Raptor lights in, wired to tail lights & Brite box Anytime Fog lights. There's a "Cap" on the boot at firewall that Main harness & Hood release run through. I looked on the inside & saw that it was a tube, so I cut the "Cap" off & ran the single pwr wire for Raptor lights through, Then eventually I had the 3 pins from Pwr supply harness to get through there. I ran 0.041 safety wire from cabin to eng compartment, electric taped 3 pins into a tapered "bullet" re bent safety wire back & pulled it through!! When I tried it No lights, The fuse holder had receptacles off center. I spiral wrapped wires for both lights & Pwr supply for Brite Box, Tywrapped to Batt hold bracket. The other feature vs the "Antman" Mod I did to my 2018 is the OEM Fog Light switch on Turn Signal still works & If you use that the indicator on the cluster display shows those lights are on, W/Brite Box it does Not show they are on.
