Then they become a plug-in speed bump. Just saying, I don't stop so well on wet roads with mud tires.

Costco's salted peanuts are THE best, most salty roasted peanuts. And the cans they come in get donated to the 4Runner projects!

I vote Wildpeaks. I had G2s on my Tundra, and the G2s seemed to lose their wet traction and snow traction after the first 20,000 miles or so.

What is the point of that? Doesn't look like a lot of clearance, is this for some kind of Baja style approach or something?

It's just the one G2, and it tracks fine. Haven't done an alignment yet.

The Wildpeaks look nicer too, I've been holding informal polls.

Wait are you saying it's three Wildpeaks, and one G2?
Still wondering the answer to the question, are they very similar dimensions? 285's in the same size vary depending on manufacturer

Yes, it's just a loaner while the tire shop finds my 4th Falken. The internet says the diameters are precisely the same, but looks like the G2 is discontinued in 285/70 r17.

Wonder if they'll give me a good deal on it for my spare.

Even if the dimensions are identical, I think the weights are quite a bit different, which probably isn't great.

I was planning on grabbing another pro wheel and doing five wheel rotations, but if the price is right I'd much rather have a matching diameter spare than whatever that stock tire is.

Anyway it's getting swapped in the morning and I can finally get an alignment.

Ordered a Gobi rack today too, does that count as doing something to my 5th gen?

Had it fluid filmed yesterday. In theory the factory tinfoil...errr...stamped steel skidplate goes back on today at lunch (if it isn't raining). I put the spare back in place after work...

Nothing else planned for a while unless I get a bonus at the end of the year, in which case I'll probably do a lift and wheels. The real priority should be getting back into a house but prices are crazy and interest rates compound that issue...and my gf is balking at prices because she can't wrap her head around the fact that a $1000 mortgage payment (with taxes escrowed in) are a thing of the past and anything decent is gonna be $2k+ now.

Yep extremely large amount of suspension travel for running fast through the desert. That's why there's a full cage, in case it rolls at 60+ mph, and a 2JZ swap.

This particular 4Runner is 2WD, so it'll get stuck if it slows down!

2016 is when Toyota switched from M12 to M14 caliper bolts, so yours might have either :D You'll want to measure yours before ordering. If you have 14mm, then the Powerstop caliper P/N and caliper bolt P/N I posted will not fit your vehicle. (Though of course you can drill out the holes on the calipers.)

I got the Black Style Storage Side Molle Panel Shelf Middle Shelf. Basically its a shelving unit for the back area of an suv, and its exactly what I needed. I have a bunch of loose smaller items that were just cluttering up the back of my car. I ordered this shelf, and now everything is way easier to store and access when needed. The install took about 2 hours because I'm cautious and didn't want to break anything, but if I did it again, could finish in about an hour.
The shelf strength is better than expected and I'm very much expecting it to hold up for many years to come.
If there were a place to review on the product page, I'd give it 5/5 stars. Obviously I'm very happy with this product, and excited to make more modifications soon.
It was cheaper than anywhere else I found that sells these units, and it only took 2 business days to get to my door.

    You can find them here:

Good idea on utilizing the extruded aluminum for the platform. How do you plan on securing it to the floor?

Thanks. I see a lot of wood platforms but I like the look of the aluminum and flexibility of the T-Nutz system. I am still trying to determine how I want secure it.

I have thought about the two hooks or anchors below but I want something cleaner that a turnbuckle.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
My new LED (Red) tail lights. I love how the red blends in with the body color. No more chrome and bulbous lights!

This video shows what the blinkers or hazards would look like.

The best part: It was plug-n-play. It took me about 15 minutes to install.
