So close to a perfect fit! Stuck the 5-channel amp under the passenger seat instead.

Got it wired up and did a quick level balancing before work.

First impressions: not bad, but at higher volumes I'm acutely aware it's an 8" in a plastic box Going to swap in a "normal" sub from another car for an a/b comparo.

First, I wonder if Morimoto employees get discounts.

Second, I wonder if they are hiring...

    Dude,
My wife would kill me if I used her dryer cord for speaker wire. Even if it is in the name of "fixing the truck" Good Luck

I was going to say the buzzer on that dryer is awful and you can open up the back and disconnect the stupid thing real easy... :D

As for speaker wire, my past life gave me a lot of knowledge about pro audio. The more strands and thicker the wire, the better. The audio signal goes through the skin of each strand rather than the core. 100 strands will have a better signal carrying capability versus 50 strands in the same gauge wire. At 50 feet, I could hear the difference between electrical wire, lower grade Belden speaker wire and Monster (-type) cable (oxygen free pure copper...)

No JLs handy but an old shallow kicker 12 in a tiny box I stole from the spare tire well of my other car predictably blew the Skar out of the water.

Guess I'll roll the dice on a different 8" before replacing the giant trim panel?

Using the fuse suggested in the instructions can be done, however that fuse periodically will power up for a fuel pump check cycle (I believe). The result is your lights will randomly go on. This is the same issue with the instructions Cali Raised has on their raptor lights tapping the EF2. After speaking to Morimoto, I was told new instructions would be sent out stating to tap an aux fuse under the dash. That is what most folks do if they don’t want their DRL to randomly turn on periodically. I personally didn’t tap anything and simply tied the tap and wire neatly with the rest of the harness. This allows me to put my DRL on whenever I want. I personally didn’t want them on 100% of the time so it works well for me. When I want them on, I switch to the DRL setting on the light control lever. On another note, several people (myself included) had issues with the high beams. In my case, passenger side was not working. Turns out I blew a fuse and replaced the 10 with a 20. This too seems to be a common problem. There is a number of threads here that go over all of this as well as some informative YouTube videos.

Those G2 taillights look sick! Kind of bummed I just installed the older ones two months ago but it is what it is.

    Nicely done! @ljerr2
I have similar red Apex Overland recovery points waiting in the wings in my garage. Do you have KDSS, and did you have to remove the front bumper and crash bar or whatever ? Apparently I'll have to drill one hole per side to bolt them on
    Thx

Depending on what my employer chooses to do W/my position by Dec.31(they told) my contract I signed guaranteed me stated if they choose not continue me to work remote I get till Mar 24 pay/everything & I get retention pkg. If I get to continue to work remotely (home since 30-Aug-2023) or they have found a competent/knowledgeable replacement for KMCI. I will buy a 2024 TRD Pro this time & do the Mods I did to this TRD OR. Only when I buy it, Eibachs @0.85 to "Level" it, 275x70x17 Cooper Discoverer's LED's inside, LED Fog (if not standard) Anytime Fog lights(love this mod on 2 different reasons) driver side hand hold( Toyota WT Hey???) will be done sooner only because I want them & can! eh! I saw a couple of 2023 locally W/Predator steps dealer installed I liked vs running boards I currently have OEM. Was never a fan ( I do like they keep frt tire kick up from aft panel damage)BUT 5'4" wife like them soooo? She'll still have a step!! Bottom line is I don't want to buy the new "4Runner" W/whatever "ECO" eng. ! & B4 any of you Eco fans flame me because I do care about the ECO!! BUT the USA is one of the LEAST ECO violators world wide & I want MY Vehicle to perform as it should, NOT some mamby bamby Prius! It's an SVU/Truck. Bottom line. I have NO,NO issues W/performance of the "old/under pwrd V6 4.0 eng." It's an SUV tank!! I had Mustang GT & others, this is NOT a muscle car! I have no problem accelerating to 65mph+ getting on a hiway. Sorry for the rant, just have 63k mi@ 57mos & I don't know how to deal W/it. usually @ 48mos over 80k & looking to trade.

@PVT Pablo hey dude what do you think about my cable locks I use for my work truck tools? The cable is coated and the Masterlocks are waterproof or weather resistant I bet is a better term, with rubber covers over the pins

I’ve had an American made Master Lock outdoors for 27 years and it still works like brand new?

I'd say he doesn't have KDSS based on the aluminum skid plate. I was curious about these as well since I have KDSS. Still considering the Apex. I'll be interested in how your install goes.

Yeah man I think that's the way to go. I have one of those master locks and it's been fine for over a year outside (on a fence not a car).

I have the Apex points, non-KDSS. Install is simple if you’re comfortable turning a wrench. No drilling needed. They (YouTube) have an easy to follow install video.

Cupholder replacement........upgrade I think! Factory cupholders are nice but I often find my soft inserts coming out with my drink container. I got a set of 3D printed ones that are really nice. I got some from a couple different sellers and took some pictures to show you the difference. One is certainly higher quality than the other. I like 'em. Wish they said TRD, but tough to get trademark stuff like that I understand.

I put velcro on my OEM's never had them pull out after. Just a thought for others if they don't wantta go after market product.

Has anyone done the anytime fog light mod on the newer 4Runners say 2020 & up? I know it's the basic vehicle but W/other sensors does that make any difference?

To be totally honest, I can’t friggin tell the difference. I had expected to go on a 4 day trip but it fell apart. :/

on a couple of day trips felt nice but didn’t do anything major to really test them

2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
My first touch up paint on my 234RORP. The divot itself was maybe 1/3 of a millimeter. I used a hole punch to create a mask for it while I did the graphene coating.

I started off by using an unaltered toothpick to drop the paint in. It didn't hold enough paint to transfer, so I used a razor to chop off the tip of the toothpick. Not completely happy with the method yet, but I can refine it more on my next touch up spot. I prepped the surface with some 91% isopropyl alcohol on the tip of a mini Japanese q-tip. They are individually packaged with a removable cover so that you can avoid soiling the other end before you use it. They are $1.50 at the Daiso Japanese store, possibly near you.
