I'm curious if switching into (or out of) the ECO mode would change that indecisive transmission.

From my understanding, all you can do is turn the light on or off - no actual changes happen to the shifting/tune of the vehicle. I could've definitely improved it by just shifting into S4 but that would've been annoying lol

This is the keep your trailer hitch version. With the trailer hitch delete option, the rear X-member is cut off. Which looks way better. But I need the trailer hitch.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Bought the 4Runner a new home. I happen to live there too now. Closed on it this morning.Front.jpg

It's a 2016 Suzuki DR-Z400SM. Basically a dirtbike with more street-tuned suspension and tires. I enjoy riding around country back roads the most and that's where it truly shines.

Nice! I've been looking to get back into riding again. I think I'm to tall for a 400sm. I really want a ducati desert sled. But I don't want to dish out that kind of cash.

Yeah, I know I should have remembered that happened on my 2014.

I used that center spout thing, and I thought I'd removed enough that I wouldn't have any pouring out the sides when I removed the housing. Doh!

It sits in my garage at IMG_20230815_004828668.jpg

I'll probably catch flack for this but I don't care. I wanted to install some sequential turn signals for the back of my truck, but didn't have the $ for the fancy ones that a lot of you guys have. I've always hated how dim the factory turn signals are. Ended up finding some aftermarket ones online that are supposed to be for the front fender off a '97 Jeep Wrangler, but I was able to make it work for my 4Runner. And for the low price of $45 bucks, it turned out pretty good! Took me longer to figure out how to upload a YouTube video of it than it did to retro fit the lights, but I thought someone out there might be interested in how they turned out. Had to cut a couple sizeable holes in the bumper though, so there's no going back now. If anyone is interested I can provide the Amazon link for them. Here's the 7-second video of them in action (only one side but you'll get the idea).

Toyota should hire you. I think that's an exponential improvement.

If I wasn't so chickenshit, I'd be ordering a set myself.

I look at all the fog light surrounds, back window trim piece LED add-ons thinking I would like to improve my vehicle's visibility because people don't pay attention enough on the road...

In Southern California, if I come up on stopped traffic, especially on a freeway, I put on my hazards and let them flash four or five times. I have dash cam stuff to protect me legally and I have insurance, I would prefer not to go there in the first place.

I don't want to be rear-ended ever again.

Having a more noticeable turn signal or any other lighting is just a little more insurance, or should I say assurance, that someone will see you.

Thanks man. The stock bulbs are so dim during the day, you can barely see em. I'm also worried about people not seeing the turn signals or brake lights, especially with everyone on their damn cell phone while driving 24/7. Sometimes I think I'm the only one not texting while driving! Here's the link for them in case you change your mind. You could probably get a shop to install them for you for pretty cheap, and the lights themselves are only $45 for both sides. All it took was adding a +/- wire from the turn signal wire and running it straight down to the lights. Hardest part was making a cutout template for it by using some printer paper and triple checking it was the correct size. Then I used some spare zinc plated toggle bolts I had in the garage to keep em in place (2 per side). Overall it wasn't too bad and it makes a huge difference in visibility, plus I've always liked the sequential signals.

Another option would be to get some small strobe/chase lights and put them in the black plastic rear window trim pillar and run the wires into the cab and control it with the controller it comes with. This is my next install actually for times where weather is severe or there's a shit ton of dust kicking up and the people behind you can't see you for shit. Might be annoying having to turn it on and off constantly in traffic though. SoCal is notorious for heavy, slow moving traffic. Glad I don't have to deal with that as much as you do!

From what I've read, the adaptive cruise control uses the rear brakes to control the speed which is why a lot of newer cars are burning up the rear brakes faster than the fronts.

No adaptive cruise on my '19, though.

Looking at the 2019 brochure, it does have something called EBD, which somehow is supposed to adjust the braking proportion based on how the vehicle is loaded. If that's true, maybe my rears just get more abuse because of the constant extra weight I carry in the cargo area. :notsure:

For the longest, I sought to hardwire the head unit to the house battery for the WiFi Connect/Hotspot. What I learned, while doable not a good idea as it might interrupt/confuse the vehicle's computer system with it being on all the time and affect other systems.

While naive to electronics, in the same manner, I am guessing any connection to the hybrid will affect the computer system. Thus, keeping to a house battery separate from the vehicle's electrical bank is what I know (somewhat). Hope that helps.

Not sure these are the best pictures, I installed the WeBoost antenna on the hood attachments usually used for ditch lights (much brainstorming). For me, while it holds the antenna, it also puts the highest point in front of me as a reminder of the height of the empty bicycle rack behind me. To keep the hood equal, I installed driver and passenger attachments, even if the passenger side remains empty.
