I have a Rubbermaid Action Packer storage box in the back of my 22 ORP. There is also a cargo mat that the box sits on. Every time I turn a corner or go through a curve, the thing slides around. Very annoying. I first tried bungee cords but that did not work. Now, problem solved.

I ordered rubberized magnets from Amazon. I drilled holes in the bottom of the box at each corner and bolted the magnets to the box. I thought I would have to somehow attach steel washers to the cargo mat but between the magnets being rubber and the weight of the box when loaded is enough to keep it stationary when making a turn or going through a curve. I love it when a problem can be solved for $13.99.

If you’re putting 14 gallons of gas you’re nowhere near stressing the fuel pump. ;)

I'll stick to the 1/4 tank rule of thumb. Yeah I can go lower, but I'll play it safe.

Dude... That is awesome. Almost everything you'd just have laying around in a shop too. He even went all out on the handle too, that was cool.

Half the fun of owning a truck is making cool custom parts & solutions out of what most people consider scrap. Or I see some kind of mod for sale and think "I can make a better one for like 1/4 the cost".

Those magnets are awesome, I actually picked up one to make a walkie talkie mount for my truck. Haven't finished it yet but those magnets can be used for a ton of things. Nice ingenuity there man!

where did you end up buying the new head unit from? All the ones I find are more expensive than all the aftermarket options.

I greased the UCA's. Holy Hell, what a job. First, put it up on jack stands, then find the zerks were a mess after two years, so I replaced them. Then, I had to remove the ARK splash guards- great product, but the clips are absolute shite. Then I had to loosen the long bolts so the grease would flow into the bushings, clean it all up and finally retorque the long bolts. Almost two hours- this is becoming tedious every 5K.

What brand UCA? Greasing SPC takes seconds with zirk easily accessible. But removing my skids to grease drive shafts is a pain.

Most of my time went into installing my pillar decals. On a more functional note, I checked all my fluids and used my ARB deflator to get the tire pressure down to a reasonable number. The little button on the regular tire pressure gauge just wasn't getting it done fast enough. I used an old-fashioned valve core tool to check tightness all around afterward, since it was the first time I'd used the deflator and I don't want any surprises on the road.

Like you, most of my time went into installing some sweet pillar decals. On a more functional note, I spent a few minutes completing the Magnuson Supercharger install.

Got the tune loaded and did all the initial run/cool down checks along with the obligatory partial throttle runs followed by further checks. Everything went perfect without issue so I proceeded with the full throttle runs later in the day :) I'll provide further information in a later thread.....it was good!

Now I'm off to find some more sweet stickers ;)

Built me a roof rack that uses factory rails. Took me too long, and it probably still needs to come back off for a few changes. But it should do ok for taking my 12ft kayak out on the road. This rack is longer between bars than with regular crossbars, which will help stabilizing the kayak so it doesnt turn in the wind. The rack itself is pretty low-profile too, lower than the malone crossbars I was using before.

I finally did the install today and can reclaim my garage. Next time I’ll buy a Gobi lol.

By the way, I sized this to be able to fit my traction boards “in” the rack. It has technically is one inch deep. Well, once I primed and painted it, the boards don’t fit haha. I have to trim about 1/8” off the ends of boards and they’ll drop right in, so no big deal in the big scheme of things.
