What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Thanks for the feedback! I am going to try and build one out of extrude aluminum as the structure. But I think the height (based on the 3D model) right now is 2 11/16".

 

Viper cut with the SSO Armageddon armor. A fun project with my brother-in-law welder. Used a couple layers of black sound deadening to protect/conceal the exposed reservoir.

 

Greenlane Automotive sliders with a kickout. Enough protection for what I need and a step for me to access the roof.

as opposed to other products that are black, I chose clear and I liked surface shield performance in YouTube comparisons.

Getting ready for a trip soon: Installed refrigerator, bought a travel walker (just in case), washing, packing "junk" to take, doing laundry, checking road conditions, etc. Printing directions "just in case" GPS goes screwy and hotel reservations.

This is good info. I'm trying to devise a slider for the back that will make everything level for sleeping, but with the added functionality of sliding out. Found a commercial option, but didn't want to bit the bullet until I figured out the actual height

I only want the platform part with the pull-out so I can use the pull-out for cooking or coffee under the rear hatch. Thinking carpet on top for easy of cleaning and matching the rest of the back with the seats down, but wood underneath for a few anchor points for strapping things down. The little pin sticking out of the side for handles to lift in and out when I am daily driving.

Yep plug & play. Bolts right up to the stock bracket. Connector is the same.

 

The stock crossover pipe goes under the transfer case and protrudes below the frame, creating a snag point. The reroute improves ground clearance.

 

Does it seem a worthwhile ($$) upgrade now that you have it done?

 

Installed a Fitcamx dash cam in the wife’s 4Runner and my Camry.

 

Is there an app for the Fitcamx? If so, is the app for the Fitcamx easy to use?

 

Yes, they have their own app now. I find it just ok.

 

Yes the Kicker tweeters sound better. For the price and stupid easy installation, they were worthwhile for me.

Thanks to the more upright windshield on the 5th gen, installation is easier than in the Tacoma - there's more socket clearance to reach the bolts.

 

Installed 1.25" Front Seat Spacers, Front Seat Recline Kit today.

 

What happens to the little plastic covers after installing these? I imagine they don't fit anymore?
