I had installed the jackers and ended up removing them.
They were quite aggressive and couldn’t adjust out of it.
So removed them and played more with the seat adjuster and found a happy enough spot…

Now, I do see merit in these so ultimately it works for some but not all!

I got my front valance off my 23 without removing the bumper. I think there are 13 clips. Some are a reach, but it can be done. The back..that's a completely different story.

With my hands I considered it next to impossible, and extremely frustrating to even attempt. Guys, it's 10x faster to just pop the front bumper off.

Depends on the year. With TSS reprogramming I was told I would have to go to their shop. I ended up going elsewhere, but it looks like the days of mobile service for windshields may be coming to an end.

How much did the bass level and sound quality change? I’ve noticed very inconsistent bass levels with stock JBL setup.

You've heard of cardboard-aided design, now get ready for calendar-aided design :cookiemonster: Copied the RokBlokz XL design using Husky P/N 17049 trim-yourself flaps:

Lower mount is a Hillman P/N 851147 L-bracket painted black and installed to the cab mount with a Hillman P/N 880511 threaded rubber expanding well nut:

Next I tried removing the running boards. Unfortunately 3 of the 6 weld nuts inside the body broke and spun with the mounting bracket bolts. I will have to visit a shop and have the bolts liquified with an oxyacetylene torch.

Nice, very intuitive. Might be time for a little rust prevention while you're at it

I got 10 of the 13 clips, but couldn’t get the remaining 3. I could just feel them with the tips of my finger with one hand, but couldn’t open my fingers enough to manipulate them. Attempting the last 3 took longer than removing the first 10, and then putting those 10 back. Rear one was easy peasy.

I had to use a small flat screwdriver to compress the clip, but once I got them started, I was able to remove them. Certainly not an easy thing to do. Small hands would sure make it easier.

What about putting them back in, that's even harder, no one's talking bout that. Like I said, take the bumper off bros it's not scary :)

I used a stubby flat head and a small tipped Philips to get out half the clips, but just couldn’t for the life of position my hand for the remainder. My wife came out to the garage asking “who are you swearing at?”, as I showed her my bloody knuckles and wrist. For either side clips that run vertical slots, it runs up against a piece of vertical plastic, where I just can’t bend my knuckles. Once I get the C4 low profile bumper, I’ll remember to take a look to see what it is.

I feel ya pain. My sunroof got popped by a rock last May. Wasn't a fun experience getting that replaced.

    https://www.4runners.com/threads/wh...h-gen-4runner-today.2261/page-668#post-355899

EDIT: I've gotta take my car back to the shop so they fix another issue. The glass will pop open, but won't slide back. Something ain't right.

So Sorry to hear these. All my previous SUVS with Moonroof/Sunroof had Issues. Hence i wasn't able to get the T4R Limited/NightShade. Settled for TRD Sports Instead.

Agreed. My wife drives a Venza and the windshield was replaced at their local location because of the TSS sensors in the windshield. I was told my 23 SR5P would have to go in if I needed the windshield replaced too. Thankfully I only have a few small chips but I haven't even hit 4k miles yet.

What did you end up painting it with? I am thinking plasti-dip with a few clear coats, but I have seen a variety of approaches. Really like how smooth your turned out.

Here are very poor pictures, sorry for taking so long, I learned a stupid life lesson when mowing and your phone falls off don't go looking for it with the mower, I see it just as it went under the deck then peaces of it came out. I also told you wrong the door panels have not came in yet. It works great and easy to install

I didn't install the bass-blockers to the front door speakers that were included. I didn't think it needed them. I think it sounds a lot better than factory. Still a bit limited by the 8" but I'd do it again if I had the choice.

Painted valance looks pretty decent and definitely workable if you're going to replace it with a C4 anyway.

I got the CarTrimHome skid, too but immediately replaced all of the hardware with my own stuff. Used Toyota OEM for the 4 mounting bolts and SS for the remaining bolts. I also used helicoil SS inserts for the filter access panel since mine came with really crappy threads in the aluminum which I'm guessing would've not held up very long! Can't believe the Toyota skid does not come with a filter access panel............

Yeah lots to do on the 13 year-old 4Runner. Bought it in January and weather is just getting consistently warm enough to work on it.

I used Plasti Dip, but it only came out passable. I didn’t realize the use of Plasti Dip, “easily removable”. In hindsight, I wish I used a flat or matte black automotive paint so I could sand it between coats.

I’ll definitely be following your lead and replacing all the hardware. Looks horrible and I worry about it being difficult to remove or even break off.

I think it looks good for DIY, especially considering you will be going in with a C4 bumper! It's a small mod that won't break the bank twice haha
