Aaahhh yes - that is a treacherous journey without fluid! I’ve done 1,000’s miles on 395!

I don’t believe it is a complete window tint. Just at the top for the sun. I was in Arizona and it helped a lot. I don’t have it here in North Carolina now.

I did this mistake on my SR5 and couldn't see properly in forest roads. A rock broke my windshield so problem solved. :p

I think for some like me that park their truck outside, where windshield faces south … the interior can degrade quicker. I do plan on tinting mine the lightest at 5% (95% of light flow through), but do ceramic to help keep car cooler and protect dash.

Here in Southern TX, it is hot as hell! I did the windshield with the highest quality lightest tint available from Xpel. My thought is that it will help save my dash and keep the interior a little cooler when at work.

I have the whole windshield tinted at 50% with a strip at the top. I do it because my commutes to and from home are directly in the sun both ways. It helps cut down on glare and brightness. I also live in an area where there are not a lot of back roads or anything like that so it really doesn't get that dark. But if you sit in a vehicle with 50% on the windshield and no one told you it was tinted, you probably wouldn't even think about it or realize it. I would never go anything less than 50, tho. It is also full ceramic tint so it helps cut down on the heat in the vehicle here in FL. Another minor plus from it is it looks fantastic from the outside. definitely gives the vehicle a more premium look. hope this helps explain my reasoning.

I did my tint with something called 3M crystalline. CR70 is a recommend one for windshield, 70% light pass through. The darker shades are excellent for other glasses. 3M crystalline claims that it is the best for heat energy reduction. Only 3M crystalline certified shops are allowed to install them.

Just shared this if anyone looking for the best. 3M site will tell you where you can find a crystalline certified installer.

Like some others have said about tint on front windshield, I had it done on my blue Tacoma. When I originally bought it, the dealership had ZERO grade tint (like you couldn't see anything inside from the outside). But it was strictly cosmetic.

Enter August 2021, had whole truck re-tinted with ceramic tint (including front windshield). It wad still dark, but it was 5%. Windshield was 30%. Helped reduce the summer heat here in Mississippi.

    Front windshield:

Eh, did the secondary air pump intake filter thing. The foam was fine (2020/52k), but it is one of those things I'm going to try. Maybe better airflow will improve my California winter blend of fuel MPG drop of 10%. (Many car dorks are starting to wonder if the mix is more than the 10% ethanol that it is supposed to be or if the average octane is below 88.)

I've ordered 3 to test. The one pictured is https://amzn.to/3HqR0jL

I didn't want a K&N because introducing more dirt getting through and adding aerosolized oil into that secondary system could cost dearly.

How do you get that cover off? Been looking to inspect that filter as well, since they say they are foam and can fall apart eventually with age. That’s the only reason I’m aware of to inspect or replace them. I wouldnt expect any mpg gains though with whatever replacement filter is used, since that pump only blows air into the exhaust to burn excess fuel in the exhaust stream. It only runs for 15-30 seconds after the engine is started until the catalytic converter gets hot enough to catalyze.

It's a snap on outer cover and a Torx (2.5) on the center of the system cover. There's a gasket on the seam, so it's sticky. Hold down the base and pull the cover up.

Upon opening, note the location and orientation of the foam filter.

Ah, I was definitely under the impression it was always on and any better flow-though improves efficiency. A catalytic converter bypass could save a few gallons, but California has those stupid (and ever-so-pesky) catalytic converter rules...

Now Im confused lol. I meant the cosmetic cover, because I was thinking it’s the only thing necessary to pull out the little pod filter. But did you have to take apart the pump housing to remove the filter?

Finally got around to installing seat jackers to the front only on the drivers side. Excited to feel the difference on my hour drive to work tomorrow.

for anyone attempting- the plastic covers SLIDE off along the same axis as the seat track….

Installed rci 20 degree sliders with bolt on plates. Used 10 bolts on each side with 4 left over. No issues lining up holes. 2 plastic frame plugs had to be removed on the driver side and 5 on the passenger side. 1 bolt on the brake line bracket had to be removed from each side and bolted back up with a new bolt. Installed with a daytona jack/ cross beam attachment. Probably 30 minutes on each side.

Does this only lift the front of the seat? My 4Runner has the sunroof. If I lift the back of the seat, I'll hit my head on the roof.

Doesn't change head room. Lifts the front adding more thigh/upper leg support. Adding rear jackers will decrease head room. Front doesn't change head space

hey- yes it only lifts the front.
Some folks do rear but most only do front.

I did my first drive- wohooa. Massive difference/change.
Jury still out on if I like yet or not. I suspect I will. After a long drive my ass and lower back ache like a MFer …. This should help that

I'm not trying to sound like a smart ass, but doesn't the ORP Power Seats have seat tilt? The seats in my 4Runner ORP aren't nearly as comfortable a the seats on my 13 Tacoma TRD O/R, but after 200,000 miles they are pretty much conformed to my ass.

Its only few days, so far I'm in favor of Toyos. Hopefully I can test snow this Tuesday.

Will see if Toyo OC can beat my fav all rounder - KO2 and my fav on snow - Gy Wrangler Duratrac.

I think the seats in my ORP are decently comfortable. I don't need the extra tilt, I was just curious. The seats in my 08 Tacoma Sport weren't bad, but they were basic manual adjustments.

I have found that one of the cons to buying my 2020 4 runner was the horribly uncomfortable front seats. I can never seem to adjust them eneough to be comfortable and passngers always complain that they are too high and not adjustable on that side on the SR5......I have power seat on driver side, manual on passenger that doesnt go up/down. WTF?

I have purchased wheel locks multiple times off of parts.toyota.com. I've never paid more than $30 for them and, they were recently on sale for $24 and change. I think Hondas and Subarus have more stolen wheels (racer culture), $24 for a convenience fee, I guess.

By the way, I highly recommend everybody check into comprehensive insurance changes for your coverage. Even if you do not have collision coverage or what is often called full coverage, comprehensive is for theft, vandalism, window breakage, catching fire because the Tesla next to you is a piece of crap and lithium batteries burn hot and trees falling on your vehicle. Dropping your deductible down to $50 is also an incredible benefit. Think about it; your windshield will cost you $200 to $250 if needing to be replaced. The difference in your premium for most policies in most States is under a dollar a month so if you save over $150, you're reaping a massive financial savings there.

Not all insurance companies offer a deductible so low, many companies offer $100 as their lowest deductible, check it out though. This is especially helpful when you live in California where criminals are almost lauded for their misbehavior.IMG_20221212_113536826_HDR~2.jpg
