Yeah this was unplanned I just stopped by at DT after a school. There's no time to cool down as it is like drive through thing where as soon as you pull to the air fill area someone will come and put air immediately.

check it in the am before heading out. Compare the gauge vs. car/app.

my gauge is only 1/2 lb off from what the car/app says.

Just a FYI for those in California, if you buy a after market intake, hold on to your OEM intake, when you smog it in 5 years, it will not pass with a after market intake. Had this problem with my tundra, had to buy one triple what I sold the original one for. Install for smog and put your after market box back after.

Its a term, not a steadfast fact. Cold as in colder than if coming from a true carb intake on top of the engine. Cooler air (than the actual engine bay) does vent up from under the bumper/fender and that is roughly where they draw the air from.

And for the record, its the most expensive HP to $$ ratio you can buy... by far and I'm not a fan.

When stopped, engine bay temps soar so initially you will be getting hotter than ambient air temps until you get moving.

Yes but at least if you pull air from outside of the engine bay, you minimize the initial rush of hot air that will lean out the AFR.

Todays ECU's make incremental adjustments every second. In EFI engines, it shouldnt be an issue. Carbs however... remember sync'ing gauges? Those sucked.

Your alignment will be way off. That’s how you know. If you just lifted it, you’ll need an alignment ASAP. Once you get it aligned, post your specs on here. Ask for a print out of your numbers. We’ll be able to see if you need SPCs UCAs for a crappy alignment or just any UCAs cause your coilovers might b rubbing your OEM UCAs.

It sounds like you don’t need UCAs or a diff drop. Did you do the needle bearing replacement from ECGS? I’d do that before UCAs & a diff drop. I did new bump stops, extended brake lines, SPC UCAs, ECGS, diff & carrier bearing drop on my Tacoma. I haven’t lifted my 4Runner yet but plan to go toytec again

Never synced cabs myself but it looks like a pain.

The ECU will cut timing and/or adjust AFR when it sees that hot air. Once it's gone it will adjust for the cooler air but you would lose power for that time almost like hampering takeoff performance.

correct. True cold air intakes have the filters sealed off inside the wheel well. (Im an 90’s mustang racer).

I have the same intake...I have had similar K&N filters on various cars (20+ and counting). I love all the stupid comments, most are just internet opinions and fall into the category of a stinky turd :poking:

Absolutely NOT! LOL. Cleans up the engine bay and gives the engine a nice growl upon acceleration.

    I don’t know why, but apparently it’s a thing…

This is what I used. It has metal clips in the molding that are totally incased in the rubber so it does not scratch but holds on very well. It can be a pain to get on. Where the flare ends what I did was go down front the wide part of the flare and get it on then slowly work it over that area. When you start doing it you will get what I am saying.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M8MAOLI?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I also went to Harbor freight and got the sanding drums you can put in a drill and used that for the rounded part of the cut they cleaned it up really eazy.

When cutting I used a oscillating or vibration saw https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-DEWALT-20V-XR-Cordless-Oscillating-Tool-Kit/5001914553 you can get a cheap one at harbor freight if you don't have one. What I liked about it was it let me make a light cut and go back over it a few times to slowly deepen it and not make a mistake.

This pack has the rounded blade I used it made it easy to cut without fighting the position of the saw. You can use a dremel and a cut off bit I have seen people do that and it works fine this is just how I did it.
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-5Pc-Oscillating-General-Purpose-Cutting-Set/5001914197

Once you make the cut use the sandpaper to clean it up I used a box cutter on the back side of the bumper to cut the flashing off but I have done a lot of this kind of thing it you are nervous about it just pull off what you can then use the sandpaper before putting the molding on you need a clean edge to get the molding on. I trimmed my liner on the passenger side so it covered the windshield washer tank still and on the driver side I cut it inline with the bumper.

The bumper bracket on the drivers side I cut flush with the bumper the rounded the back corner so it looked like it was made that way.
Good luck and remember it is just plastic.

I wasn't very happy with the 275/55/20 look and changed to 17 in option 285/70R17. As seen on the 2nd pic I didn't like seeing stuff through the wheel.

since I did a lift 2.5 front and 1.5 rear didn't have any rubbing issues. But when I did 285s I had rubbing issues and have a video explaining how I solved it very easily.
