It happens, man! Is your rig lifted or completely stock? Did you by chance engage crawl control in reverse?

Thanks! It's stock except for the Falken Wildpeaks in stock size. Yea, I tried everything but the rocks I put under kept getting flung out and all my efforts kept digging me deeper in the sand so I stopped. I had a kind lady try to help me get out but she wasn't too experienced with kinetic energy ropes and she didn't seem comfortable using it so I didn't push it. Moral is: I couldve gotten 2 sets of Maxtrax for that tow bill.

Nope, the skids there didn't even get damaged. I did undercoat it a few months ago if you're wondering.

I would've been more mad if it did damage running boards but I specifically requested my build to not have them so I can get sliders later on and not deal with selling the boards.

That sucks, but you seem relatively unscathed. That exhaust section bothers me how it’s situated. Honestly, that is probably the most exposed part that could benefit from some sort of simple skid plate. Ive spent time contemplating making something simple, but it seems the best way is what is already out there (transfer skid plate mounted onto a new crossmember that is installed behind that exhaust section).

Did you have any recovery equipment with you? Were you too stuck to stack rocks?

Edit: you answered those questions already :)

Removing the bottom rear seat is a must do for folks who travel with rear seats folded down regularly or sleep/camp in the truck & don’t want to build a platform.
Provides a lot of extra storage…

Getting ready to prep my nerf bars for raptor lining. Never saw her w/o them. I kinda like the clean look. But being short, I kinda like having the steps :D

    20220713_123144.jpg

Got some sanding to do. There's a bit of rust to get off of these. Hope to get it all done and cured by next Monday.

PS.. next task is to clean my damn garage :p

I believe it is better than line-x. A buddy of mine used it on his fenders and also on his rock sliders. It's been solid and no chips after 2+ years. He does a lot more off roading than I ever will, but I do like the texture and added layer of protection. Plus it is UV fade resistant.

I have a hard time believing that since it's sold on Amazon and line x has been the industry standard for an eternity.

You can purchase it directly from U-pol, on Amazon, or at some auto stores. It is expensive, but the reviews are positive and I've seen its performance first hand. But to each his/her own.

Finally got the matching Transfer Case Shifter Knob to my Regular Shifter. A Guy on Etsy made this one for me (same guy I bought the larger shift knob from), I believe he also has the shift pattern in White on Black, as well.

Broke 3000 miles yesterday on our 2022 4Runner. It’s been sitting in our garage for a couple weeks while I have been driving the Honda CRV. Honda has 303,750 miles on it and running strong.

Finished routing my breather for the rear diff and e-locker. More of a pain in the ass than I expected, with regard to the routing and such. Mostly because the line that came with the ARB kit that I bought was pretty stiff, and it didnt like to bend how I wanted it to.

Well the $800 tow truck could've went to some recovery boards so probably not lol. Just wanted to test some capabilities. Did not expect to get high centered but that was on me.

Luckily yea. Definitely need a thicker fuel tank skid first though, might save up to get a full skid kit and then sliders after.
