Man you even make the 295s look small. How much lift are you at?

    Rolled over 70k.

Changed the oil and the air filter. The stock air filter keeps getting thinner. First they got rid of the pre-filter, now the filter is almost half the thickness of the old ones, but there are more pleats.

Diffs, trans, and transfer case oil changes up next around 75k.

I traded my black 2020 ORP on a white 2022 ORP today. The 2020 was my first AND LAST black vehicle. I had been waiting on the 2022 since December. Because I work for the company that owns Southeast Toyota, I ordered it through their associate purchase program. The price I paid made it worth the wait plus I got 4K more in my trade than I paid. Win-Win.

I removed everything that I put on the 2020 so I can put it all on the 2022. That was a job. I did everything myself except for the lift kit. I didn’t feel that I was mechanically inclined enough to pull that off without f-ing up something.

Now to reinstall everything. I already changed all of the settings with my Carista module. I reinstalled the Pedal Commander. (easiest stuff first). Next will be the LED puddle lights and sequential turn signals, Brite Box anytime fog lights, Tail as Turn tail lamp harnesses, all interior LED lights, LED license plate, reverse, and front turn signal lights, step bars, and cold air kit. Hopefully, I will have that done tomorrow so I can drop it off to have the lift kit and tires & wheels reinstalled.

Once that is done, off to the tint shop then ceramic coating. After that, I should be done … until Magnuson releases the supercharger.

For my latest engine air filter change I used the Purolator One A36122. It looks almost exactly like the OEM one, same larger size, with the foam pre-filter.

Today (yesterday, actually) I took delivery and brought it home via 800+ mile road trip after a six month wait.

Congratulations. Living in AZ IMHO prohibits black due to heat.
Does your new 4R have the cameras and if so I'm curious which puddle LEDs and sequential turn signals you have.
    Thanks.

It was cheaper to drive than fly and pay airport parking for a month! Plus I’m picking up two motorcycles in CA so bringing the runner and buying a trailer is cheaper than renting a uhaul lol

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

Someone said Wix has air filters close to the original OEM but I have not looked into those yet.

    Edit:

Here's the one that pops up for Wix. Part #49350. Hard to tell from the pic (and maybe the pic is wrong), but it looks like the pre-filter is a little thinner. But better than nothing, IMO.

I only use Wix filters or Napa Gold (Napa is made by Wix). Quality/price is hard to beat :crapstorm:. There are some applications I go with others but for a regular car, Wix has my loyalty. Worked 12 years in a auto parts/hot rod shop and can't recall one problem with a Wix. Quite a few other brands came back in with issues. One oil filter from another company didn't have the holes drilled on the inside of the filter element... Literally, no holes for the oil to get to the pleats. Lucky the guy caught it before installing.

That Wix filter pictured looks just like the Purolator one I used, with the metal screen on top. I bet they’re made by the same manufacturer.

I tend to change air filters frequently, especially after driving a lot on dirt. After a recent off-road trip in UT/AZ I changed the filter (which was fairly new). I banged the old filter on the pavement and was amazed at the amount of dirt and dust that was dislodged. I think frequent changes can be more important than the filter brand.

I wanted the front cameras but you cannot get the front cameras and KDSS. Not sure why since it doesn’t seem that they would conflict with one another.

The puddle LEDs are from V-LED. I’m honestly not sure where the sequential turn signals came from. Cartrimhome.com posssibly.

It has been a busy day at the Corleone compound.

Settings changed with Carista module ✔️
    Pedal Commander reinstalled ✔️
    All interior LEDs installed ✔️
    LED puddle light installed ✔️
    Sequential turn signals installed ✔️
Tail as Turn harness kits installed ✔️
LED reverse and tag lights ✔️
    N-Fab step bars installed ✔️
    TRD Pro grill installed ✔️
Cold air kit (noise maker) installed ✔️

Still have to reinstall the Brite Box anytime foglight kit. Then off to have the lift kit reinstalled.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't get that combo. Being in AZ I was able to get KDSS and the cameras. Wasn't able to get the sliding rear cargo deck. Thanks for the information.

Pardon the naïveté, does the cold air kit stay open like that? If so, is there any improvement versus the original air filter setup?

Whatever the answers, it looks well done and (based on your answers) possibly worth replicating. Thanks.

My Life pointed out there was a smell on the passenger side whenever we drove the vehicle out of the garage and occasionally down the road. Unknown to me in the driver seat, the smell was coming from the water tank vent. Likely from bacteria growth from sitting in the garage between outings and until I drain, sanitize, and refill before the next trip. Which I could have done today but it will continue to be a nuance in the future. Instead, rerouted the vent to under the vehicle instead of inside, which was the initial intent. But, being lazy I wanted to pass the temperature sensor into the tank without making another hole and the solution was sending the sensor through the vent, two birds one stone. NOPE! Lesson learn, there's a reason vents are sent to the outside everywhere on the planet except in my 4Runner. DUH!

This all continues to be an experiment for me--in the school of Hard Knocks!

Often times, I'm on here poking fun at people who change their oil at low intervals; however, I'm guilty of changing the air filter much more often than Toyota recommends. My thought process being if you want clean oil, you gotta start with clean air.

Lowered the Eibach coilovers about an inch and got the alignment in check. Very happy with how this set up rides for the money. If you don’t feel like spending Fox or King $$ I highly recommend the Eibach 2.0 kit. 1173AFBE-5397-4B42-AEB1-E71DABB45C6C.jpgB5F84410-6A43-4B90-AC10-AABEF7DB72F4.jpg

It is right at 16 seconds. There are actually 2 pieces that I see. It had to have gotten kicked up by one the the 2 vehicles in front and just happened to be angling down. Just some really bad luck right there!!!

I have the same intake, and yes it is open but the hood acts as a top. There is not a 'performance' improvement really. But what it does improve is the engine bay. Way easier to get to around in there now! And the extra noise when you waste some gas is always nice!

It does have a “heat shield” around it that supposedly helps keep the hot air from the engine out but I am not so sure. I do like it because it does “feel” like it adds a little something (seat dyno), it makes a lot of noise when you get on it, and I like the look vs. the factory air box setup.
