If you want service every 5k miles you have to pay every other oil change. Toyota covers the 10k and 20k oil changes. That's what I have been doing, there is no point in arguing about that.

I think we all work pretty hard to afford the vehicles we own.

I'm guessing your dissatisfaction has more to do with the fact your advisor was doing his or her job and not because he or she was a miserable rude asshole. I guarantee if that person was, they wouldn't be working at the dealership.

I think you would be able to have more say in my case if you were dealing with this one particular person your self...I deal with customer service at my current job and I try to be as friendly as possible even if the person on the other end is being stubborn or dumb. I have issues with my new vehicle as posted in other areas of this forum & the service advisors should have open ears and try to help in this case, instead of blowing it off like it doesn’t exist. He didn’t spend $48,000 on a vehicle with issues, I did. We are in a world now where places are struggling to fill positions & they are hiring anyone with 8 fingers and a breath...another thing I see at my place of employment.

And I spent more than a few years managing a service department. If you treat customers poorly, you're a goner. It's that simple.

It would appear, someone wants to argue here. Certain people DO have attitudes, or, simply be having a bad day. It cannot always be policed. I've run into it myself.

Yea I’m sure the thousands of dealers are all ran like clock work to the T to the exact same standards...not. In my case I am costing Toyota time & money since this is all warranty. They don’t like that. I am sure if my vehicle was out of warranty and I agreed to have every single item serviced at my cost and there commission & mark ups attitudes would be better. Or if the guy is just a dick who knows it can be the same way. Either way he is unprofessional and At the third trip dealing with shit since purchase on 12/23/21 to now and only TRYING to enjoy the 920 miles I drove my NEW ‘known to be perfect’ vehicle I am not being the most jolly person while dealing with incompetent people.

I'm not arguing. Far from it. It just doesn't match what I know from my experience in the industry.

Good customer service is a thing of the past. If you find good service you better stick with that business because it's a rare find in 2022. And I agree that plenty of customers suck to deal with...

This is one of my concerns in buying a 'COVID' car - how many corners are being cut in manufacturing/quality? Not necessarily from Toyota even (but possibly), thinking more about all the vendors they contract with for sub-assemblies. It's a rampant issue in my industry, and I doubt it's isolated to any one section of the economy.

I've been following some of your issues through your other posts and hoping we fare better once our 4R is finally delivered. Sounds like you may be getting close to triggering NYS's new car lemon law. Not a great an option - but current circumstances may warrant that path.

Having spent some time in NY, my guess is your signature refers to Upstate (because that's clearly the better half of the state...) - the good part about that area is that word travels. The behavior you describe from the dealer will catch up to them. Small consolation now, but maybe a sliver of comfort.

Good luck with your situation and please continue to post so we can all learn from your experiences.

AVS hood deflector is on. Not sure if I'm in love with the looks, but should be a good insurance against rock chips.

Looks great! I'm still thinking about getting one myself just to blend with my ventshades. I still have to mention, what I have before, and there have been no opinions. Question is: what about chips and such on the rest of the fully painted front end?. The front of the hood only accounts for a small sliver of protection. Therefore, to me, it is primarily, just for looks.

Just picked up a 2022 4Runner ORP in white last weekend for my wife. Only mod so far was black plastidip over all the emblems, but have a tint appointment on Friday after work and ordered wind deflectors. I will be ordering TRD Pro wheels soon to go with some Off Road tires, and plan on getting rock sliders in a few months. Happy to have a Toyota family now (I drive a 2017 Tacoma Off Road 6mt).

Thank you, now I need to balance my time with the Tacoma forums too. The hard part is making sure I don’t turn the 4Runner into my build, since this is my wife’s ride and I’m “advising” and trying to steer her in the right direction without making decisions for her.

Does anyone know of a sliding or disconnect sway bar link that will work with a 5th gen?

Toyota doesn't own the dealerships.......they are independent of Toyota.

As such, Toyota pays dealerships for warranty repairs. Dealers actually like warranty repairs because it's easy money for them and usually pays well.

Good point. The only real way to keep the entire front end clean is to go full PPF. But that's $$$, this was like <$50. Cheap insurance which I hope will keep my hood chip free. I'm okay with the Bumper taking a bit of damage tbh.

You are right technically ‘western NY’ I consider upstate the Adirondack region. They put a new front differential assembly in today and the noise is gone and the steering wheel shake is gone to and I looked all over the vehicle and under and I would never had known any work was done. Clean efficient job. $2800 bill if not covered under warranty.
