Check out the aftermarket grill from Trail Standard Offroad if you want to save a little money. Still expensive for what it is but i think it really makes a different to the front end. I bought their grille with letters and no regrets! the only difference is the letters are individual and you put them on yourselves. I am actually rocking it blank right now and really like it so far. Will probably black the letters out and put them on later.

Yeah I’ve looked at that but when I priced them both out it was only like 100 dollars more to the oem one. So I just didn’t get either yet.

lol so drive it on the street! The rear cats are after the last o2 sensor. You won't have any check engine lights or inspection issues unless your station looks for the 2nd cats and knows they're supposed to be there and cares enough to bust your balls about it. You are in tree hugger socal so it's very likely that'll happen lol

Thats why I cant have that system, there are other ways I have found through tacoma world as 2nd gen tacomas have similar issues with exhaust rerouting. I was totally sold on that pipe, more power, less restrictive, safely tucked up there, till I read not street legal. I could probably find a place in the hood that will do it for me, but its not high on my priority list since I have my 1st gen tacoma built out to play in the rocks. This is my daily, but will slowly be modified cause i cant help myslef

Just had a long day of ceramic coating the Runner. But it’ll be worth it!

Nice! How did you install the amber/raptor lights? Inside or outside the grill?

Updated photo a day after curing. Definitely brings out the metallic in the paint.

What product did you use and do you think it's any better than a high quality commercial grade wax?

From what I’ve been reading. Yes, it’s a shit ton better than commercial wax. It basically creates a hrlydrophobic glass like coating over the clear coat but...you gotta wash, dry, clay bar, polish then ceramic coat followed by letting it cure

I generally do wash, clay, wash again, dry, and I personally love Meguiar's #26 yellow paste wax. I may give this a shot for the spring detail though. Any benefit in waxing over the ceramic?

I used a slightly different product from Ammo NYC called Reflex. It’s not a true ceramic coating as it needs to be redone every 12 months or so. I put 2 coats on my 4Runner about a month ago and it’s holding up great so far. The Reflex isn’t a “hard” coating and allows the paint to “move” as Larry from Ammo says. Big fan and it’s only $60 for the little container, it’ll do the 4Runner probably twice. Super easy to apply as well which is always a plus.

Just bought the Garmin InReach with mount, along with a 9.7 inch ipad and swivel...did a bunch of research on maps and think that the Garmin paired with the iPad and Garmin's Earthmate GPS Navigation would be best. The iPad has the cellular feature, so if I can grab a signal I won't need satellite coverage; but, it will be nice to have the satellite coverage for emergencies, texting, emails, and phone. The subscription can be one month at a time, so I can just pay for it when I need it.

Also, I should add that the Earthmate allows you to download maps beforehand (when at home, for example, and using Wi-Fi) to use when off roading; meaning, there is no need to have any signal, but the GPS will follow the map automatically.
