Yeah I don't think the person I was talking to understood the sleeves were too long but with the information given I figured out I just need to cut them down to the right height. Not a big deal I just like to make sure I do things the right way. I will cut them to the right length later today and toss them on.

Finally got around to installing the Sherpa Crestone rack. I bought it in raw aluminum and had sides and xbars powdercoated red. Now I can identify my 4R from the thousands of identical white ones...and so can everyone else in my town. :)

If anyone lives in New Mexico and wants a free stock Toyota 4R roof rack, let me know.

Did my rear differential today @ 152K.The previous owner clearly never did it. the oil coming out the back was so metallic it looked like a unicorn with a bladder infection.

I used turnbuckles to attach the base, and made a tabletop to have a flat work surface even when the back is loaded up w/gear.
The driver's side is sized for my cooler.
I'm happy with it so far, I will run it this way until spring and if I don't have to change anything I will take it out and paint it.

I also use Amsoil Severe Gear oil. Next you should attack the front diff then the transfer case. I’ve been changing the rear twice as often as the front.

Yezzir, I need to get more crush washers (I got the fill crush washer for the front diff, near the drain crush washer).

On the transfer case, is it so you can use the same oil from the diffs? Transfer case stuff is all over the place.

Nicely done! I've been thinking about the flush mount LED on the rear bumper, but too lazy to check if there's room for it, now I know. I want to paint them same color as my 4R. Which lights are those? Thanks!

Finally got some lighting goodies, prinsu rack, and CaliRaised rock sliders installed. Super happy with everything and will be putting everything to the test this weekend on a trail trip. FYI, the Baja Designs 7XL linkable light bar is literally insane - intense amount of light is putting it lightly.IMG_2296.jpg IMG_2292.jpg IMG_2290.jpg IMG_2288.jpg IMG_2287.jpg IMG_2286.jpg

Thought I had a problem with my rear wiper which suddenly stopped functioning. As it turns out, the rear wiper does not work if the rear window is down even a smudge. I must have bumped the button on the window and it moved enough to disable the wiper but not to even clear the weather stripping. Closed the window and everything is great again.

I bought these rear handles. https://www.4runnerlifestyle.com/co...ducts/4runner-lifestyle-headrest-grab-handles

They are a little small if you have big hands. I can only grab them if the head rest is up. They would be great for kids and they are unobtrusive.

Installed the 1inch Cornfed spacer lift. Got to see what the ABS light looks like. Off to the store to find out what code got tripped and how to fix it.
