It’s on its way !! I hope lol . My first Toyota. I’m coming from a 2019 Ranger done up. My sister has a pristine 2008 FJ that I’ve always loved. It’s a beast. Always loved Toyota and decided to get one.

Honestly not hard at all. I install all of my own suspension and do all of my own mods (follow them i mean but do the work myself) but I have always been scared of wiring thinking I would mess something up and my vehicle would burn to the ground lol. But i read his post like 10 times (no joke) just to bascially have it memorized and feel confident. doing it took maybe 30 min, I took me time buying the little connectors, relay switch, and the mini (make sure they are mini) add a circuit and then the act of doing it was quick and very straight forward. But the finished product is great not having to add an extra switch or drilling any holes, it works as factory. there is the link to it, itll work on 2010-2022 5th gens.

I am happy to help and provide any "expertise" with this mod if you want.

I went with Diode Dynamic SS3 Sports man. I wanted the pros but could not justify the $140 price jump and on lightwerks the sports were on sale for $198 so i couldnt pass that up. The light output on these diodes is incredible and provides the much needed width to cover the dark areas that were always "dead spots" with the factory lights. plus their cuttof is really good for daily driving so I am not that asshole blinding folks with my fogs on.
I my next step is a full length roof rack and i am torn between three options: Gobi, Prinsu, Or sherpa. I am really leaning towards sherpa becuase of their lack of silicone or extra rubber washers needed. I LOVE the gobi but they are so damn expensive. Yours looks good with that gobi up there and it sounds like you got a good deal on one from someone.

nice! how long was the install.. complicated..? which did you purchase..? I was driving along the coast last night.. could have used the extra brightness a few times along hwy 1..dislike the fact that the fogs cut off when highs are in use..

Finally got a nice day, and also got enough done to be worth posting...

I got the 4R Lifestyle Pro Grill installed, and had previously done the TRD Intake, and some "Billet Bling" as well as the SAIS filter upgrade. Battery Clamp is Agency6, Rad Cap garnish is eBay, and the Oil Cap is JDM. Also got HD hatch struts installed, and currently the dash is apart for installing the ICS Dash Mount, and the Dual USB Charger in place of the 12v socket.

The upper grill section and the "Runner" Lights are perfect. The lights are made so that they exactly match the trapezoid shape of the grill. The new grill fit into the Upper Front Valence perfectly as well.

The wrap for the center part fits well at the ends, but was somewhat curled in on itself, making getting it into place an adventure. Had to push quite hard, and this caused the whole front plastic part to deform, which didn't help getting the part on. At either end, the trim tape simply cannot hold it, but, it is solid in the center, and still looks great. The letters go on nicely... I got black cause that's all they had... and sprayed them with brushed silver.

I'm thinking of getting some of the nice gloss black truss-head screws, and putting one top and bottom, at either end... no way it can escape then, and the screws will never be seen.

I figure since I can't get the "real" Toyota part, anything that didn't require trimming and fitting, is victory.

I've only had my '22 ORP since November, so not much has been done yet. When I bought this, sadly the first thing that kept me up at night, was the damage my dogs were going to do to the interior. My 2013 Honda Pilot 2nd row was trashed by the time I traded it in. So for two months my dogs haven't had a single ride, until I figured it out; and today I put the last piece into place. A buddy suggested Rixxu's seat cover, which was definitely worth every penny. My Dane's claws have torn through every other cover so far, but this one is holding up nicely. The other problem was the doors. All three of my dogs are heavy shedders/panters, and drool all over, and that stuff is a nightmare to get out. My wife found these door covers that attach by sticky velcro strips (which are garbage). I bought a roll of very sticky, reusable tape that def holds it in place w/o damaging the door. So far I'm loving it.

The small, round air filter is an upgrade to the intake of the Air Injection Pump. I saw the write up on how to do it on one of the 4R forums, or might have been T4R... The OEM filter is a chunk of foam inside the blower housing. Over time, with exposure to heat and oxygen, it gets "oocky" and sheds bits into the fan, and ultimately into the Air Valves, causing a VERY expensive repair. I saw where one person had issues with some of the red cotton shedding into the system, but I think that was a faulty filter, so I inspected the interior and used compressed air from the outside to chase out any leftovers from manufacturing.

thanks a million! exactly why I want the fogs with the DRL for foggy days in the bay area as well driving along the coast on HWY 1.. according to his steps, you would use a 3M wire tap and place that onto the white and grey spec wire.. while reading through his steps (unless I missed) he does not go back to the tap wire..
    link provided below with pics..

i'm far from a mechanic.. all mods I read on threads here and done.. for example.. dash speaker upgrade, TRD pro grille, changing out LEDS, etc etc..

Where did you get the side door covers and what kind of tape did you use? Double sided I'm assuming? Does it leave any residue on the door though?
I tried gaffer's tape before which is supposed to have zero residue and that left a mess when taking it off.

So after I saw your mod with the little filter, I remembered I have a little K&N filter laying around. Fit real nice but also a bit longer and just hits the power steering reservoir. To bad. One thing I noticed while taking it apart, looks like toyota made a great deal making that intake so water doesn't get in. Intake inside and cover on top, just a guess on my part, any thoughts on that? 20220211_183225.jpg

no, not this mod and wire set up.. you can according to what I read but it would be more wires that would need to be cut and won’t auto turn off like the headlights do when you lock your car..

for sure man glad to offer some assistance. It doesn’t have to be 3M specific wire tap. I picked up a box of them at autozone but you can get them anywhere. The wire the is tapped in(in his pic, it’s the wire lead he says “we will do more with this later”). That wire gets a female spade connector on it and it is then connected to the new relay that you installed.
His paper diagram that he posted at the end has a great picture of where each wire goes.

the wire tap is purely to tap in a new wire, it’s an easy way of adding it in instead of having to cut n splice and all of that.

respond if this isn’t clear or if I missed your question. I am happy to offer assistance man.
