Installed a SSO full rack over the weekend. I will say I was shocked about the wind noise. It’s a lot louder than I expected..

Are the Dobinsons a different spring rate? Or what’s the reason for switching it up?

Not to be a dick, but it looks like there’s just the stock bottle jack and one jack stand holding up the front of your truck. I’d hate to see someone get hurt from a truck falling on them, which happens more often than it should.

dobinsons are heavier coils. Ome sagged real quick. And no the bottle under the control arm allows me to work the suspension and take the top nut of the strut and swap just coils. Fame is on jack stands. I can change both coils in 30 min total. From time I take wheels off till I put them on. I’ve done enough times and have enough experience wit it that it’s faster and safer than removing with top hat and using a coil compressor. And not to be a Dick you don’t need 8 jack stands and I’m not under it nor asking anyone to get under it. Work in your own comfort zone based on your own common sense and skill

If you were asking me, I actually really like it. Not quite as tall as my Pro was with the Eibach springs and 285's, but I didn't want to lift this one that much. It looks very stock plus now which is what I wanted. I've had Jeeps on 35's and 37's and lifted 3-4". Over the last few years I've not wanted to deal with a lifted vehicle as much. The higher the lift the more problems that can arise and I didn't want that. I have been into modifying my vehicles to look stock plus or how they should look from the factory. Nor did I want to deal with the drop in mpg especially during this time. I know with my Pro and my driving habits and distances that I was getting 13mpg around town. I'm getting 15-16 right now which is acceptable for me since my Subaru only got 19mpg. I still might lift this 4R further in the future but not for awhile. Now I love the way a 4 Runner looks on 35's, but I also know how much that will cost to do it right.

So, at the end of the day - do you like where you are now with your 4R or do you wish you had just kept your (2019 /2020) Pro and not gone thru all of this? Just curious!

I was starting to get some of the dreaded clunking in my Fox suspension, but could only hear it every time I drove in my parking garage. I highly doubt I would have been able to get them fixed under those circumstances. So that made it easier to sell it. It had quite a few dings, scratches and chips. It would be out of warranty by now. One thing I miss is the sliding cargo tray. I'm going to have to build a platform to make a flat floor. I made money on the Pro and then made money on the Outback, but I have spent most of that buying new stuff for this 4R. At the moment this 4R is a lease which I'm pretty sure I will go over the miles, but since I have never kept a vehicle for 2 years I figured this was a better route. Plus its a write-off for my business. I'm not doing any permanent mods that can't be reversed. This will allow me to see what the 6th Gen has to offer.

At the end of the day, I don't miss the Pro because I feel like the SR5P is the same thing on a daily basis minus the Pro badge. This Nautical Blue color has really grown on me and stands out much more than the MGM. I'm just happy to be driving another 4R, but if I had to do this all again I would have just stayed with the Pro. What I did learn is I don't like Subarus and it didn't cost me any money to learn that lesson.

Well said and good to know! I have had my Pro for six months and 9,600 miles now. I really like it and am pleased with my good fortune to have found a LR Pro ($2,000 above MSRP). I probably would have been more inclined to modify a ORP and feel less compelled to modify the Pro. I am fine with the current look and feel. I am also self employed, so the tax write off was another reason I felt I could justify the cost of a Pro versus the ORP.

Hikeit X9 controller finally installed. The throttle cable connector was giving me issues coming out. It was way easier when I removed the gas pedal.

Same here. Regular key with chip is much safer against vehicle theft as well vs key fobs IMO.

I even liked the old key as it stay on the key hole vs key fobs I have to keep in a cup holder or something if I wear shorts or anything with pockets that are not tight keys will fall in between the seat and center storage area.

That's why it's best to wire accessories to their own circuits. I would bet there's a way to recalibrate the accessory draw but more than likely, your aftermarket headlights are the problem. Either they draw too much current or act in ways the ECU doesn't recognize. I would likely install something like a SPOD controller for accessory lighting and not wire anything, other than the SPOD trigger wire, to the vehicle wiring harness.

Put a breaker between the SPOD and battery and you can completely eliminate your accessories and any issue can be quickly isolated.

My recommendation would be to disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes. See what happens when you reconnect.
But to address your question about not turning off, this will happen if you leave it in gear and turn it off. Try just getting out and taking the key with you--lock the vehicle.

I got old school relay connected to main battery with a fuse and have a oem style switch for my lights.

Headlights are stock though. Not a fan of aftermarket housings.

Did not feel comfortable with complicated switching systems like SPOD or anything like that.

Think of the switch systems as preconfigured relays. Got a set of lights? Mount them and run two wires to the device and you're done. It's literally that easy. No wires to push through to the cabin (except for the panel). No fuses (the device is fused). So much easier. I did this for my Tacoma and couldn't be happier.

Thank goodness you are safe and not having to tell a bad story like "The day before thanks giving......"

Meanwhile I have a story like "I got the entire thanks giving week off but my kiddo got cold and cough from Sunday trail run with snow, now I have to sit at home watching TV and giving her cold medication...." :frustrated:
