What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Thx. I avoid the Swirl-a-Matic ones. So the touch free has those robotic arms flying and spinning all over the place.

 

Jumped to 295s. Yokohama geolander G003 M/T. With spidertraxx spacers, my effective offset sits at -43.75 lol. Got a bunch of trimming to do

 

those tires look great.

 

Lol, I think the angle of the pic makes it look closer to the top of the fender than it is. I have pretty good room lift wise, but I got a lot of trimming and banging to do

I remember hearing the same concern, maybe 15 years or so ago, about eco cars shutting off at stoplights then restarting. I think VW was one of the first. Their solution was to use extra heavy duty starters to take all that abuse. And with Toyota hybrids they do the same thing. Gotta believe they have the recipe correct after all this time. But Kia? Who knows.

 

I, too, took an Outback detour between 4Runners. The "iPad" in the center stack malfunctioned on an almost daily basis, and by the end I was ready to drive it into a creek.

 

I think I will just let someone else install it.

 

Yeah there were all kinds of quirky issues with it. I was ready to punch a hole in the iPad. That will be my last Subaru.

Bought the rubber hitch receiver plug. Not sure why these don’t come standard?

 

My 2004 came with one but I had to buy one for my 2017. Keep in mind that you need to make sure it fits tight or you will be buying another one

 

Yeah, it’s not super tight but it only cost like $8 or $9. If I lose it no big deal.

Never had any problems with the one on my 2001 4Runner.

 

Rotating tires today and I noticed this small cut on my KO2. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Agree, but if it's simply rubber peel it'll likely outlast the other three. Unless the same spot takes a more substantial blow. Something to keep an eye out for, for sure.

 

Hmmm, good eye, thanks for pointing it out! I double checked just to make sure…all is good, it doesnt wrap back far enough to touch the line.

You should have seen the property taxes on my Tacoma. I thought it would be much worse for my 4Runner, but I'm fortunate the city changed how they calculate the taxes.

 

Bought and added to my tool kit a small handsaw that takes reciprocating blades in case I got in a situation that I needed to cut some metal, etc.

 

Taxation is theft. Not that we have a choice…

 

Trying to dial in this alignment but otherwise fox 2.5 is the shiznit
