Went to Hooter Holler OffRoad Park with a bunch of Mark Twain Mafia Jeeps yesterday.

Finally got to use my Warn VR10 winch for a self recovery. 1st time using it for myself in 3 years of having it on there. Cant see it in this pic, but there is a rock ledge in front of me preventing me from moving forward. The winch worked fantastically. Fast / strong and pulled me over like nothing else.

Will have some videos later on.

Sweet! Makes me eager to finish mine up! Got the wiring done just now, and gonna start the cut on the bumper cover shortly.

Question for ya’ll. I wired the winch directly to the battery posts. Is that the right place, or should it be wired on of the main fuses labled 250A or 70A?

    11AC58BD-806D-4440-BDCF-0F94936FCE3B.jpg

Im thinking it goes straight on the post like I have it, because the manual suggests that in heiriglyph. If so, does anybody ever put a separate fuse on the main electrical line for the winch? Is it recommended to fuse it?

How do like your Rexing? Where did you mount the rear cam? I've been looking at the Blackvue DR900X. I didn't think there was a very good mounting option for a rear cam.

Saw someone say it can be at higher RPMs and if you wanna get onto the highway without getting rear ended in a 4runner 5500 RPM is not an uncommon occurrence! (For me at least)

It should have its own breaker or fuse. A winch draws a significant amount of power and if it shorts to ground, there goes your battery and quite possibly, your vehicle.

I believe it. A front end collision could really light things up!

What do you suppose would be a good amperage for the fuse? I would imagine the draw on the winch could vary wildly.

Wasn’t planning on doing this today but I am glad to have it out of the way. Now I don’t have a flimsy phone, tablet, or camera holder.
This is the ICS mounting kit.

Today I replaced the rubber antenna mount on the right front fender but I'm not totally satisfied with how it's seated. I'll probably still play with it over the next few days to see if I can get it to seat better. I couldn't find anything on the subject here in the forum using the search engine and YouTube didn't have any 5th Gen 4Runner vids on the subject.

I love the sleek look of the modified roof rack. I need to get rid of my Predator Steps as well. I am also sporting a 1up rack (double tray).

How are you liking the feel of the Westcott lift? I have often heard that the ride quality is better than stock. But, I am really impressed with ride quality of the Pro Fox suspension and wonder how it can be improved upon. Looks great!

    All of them.
Took both of them out to help with a trail clean up and then a quick ride to a really gorgeous overlook that I had no idea existed right in my back yard. We will definitely be up there camping soon. A19C88A2-0C7F-47D8-8EA8-25B0330CB852.jpg

Love the Westcott lift! Yes I do think it enhances the ride with the Fox shocks. Handles better, and kinda takes out any mushiness from stock. It’s the perfect height too. Can’t beat customer service and the shipping was lightning fast to Northern California.

1up for life! Love the single as I never really take it off. Can open the hatch no problem with it on. Another great company!

Had a pretty good hit on the rock slider where the guys stacked rocks for me.

I need some lower link skids and bigger bump stops. Blew out my Eibach rear shocks on a similar obstacle a couple weeks ago. I need to order all 3 Asap. Running OEM rear shocks right now and they suck. A lot of these ledges required bumping the rig over them. Lots of loose rock w/ little traction.

My local off road place said they can do a swing arm that maintains camera use. Will be interesting to see how that works.

I don’t see how. Even with an offset carrier it’s gonna block the camera.

Maybe they relocate it as part of the install?
