What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

installed the CC ones the other week and love them. definitely gonna go with this one next! pretty sturdy so far?

 

Just installed my Greenlane hatch ladder. Plan is to mount a Rotopax to it, plus one of those canvas trasharoo's, everyone seems to have.

Take it from someone who installed the RCI full package last summer.......get another helper for the main plate. It's heavy and I nearly dropped it on my face. The others can be done with one person.

So far, so good. No rattles either for now. I did put a bunch if Second Skin on the tail gate, and on the panel itself. Had some left over from my audio build. What i also dig, is even with some added weight, the gate still rises on its own, and stays up. So, thats cool. Cheers my guy.

 

Received my canvasback liner today and got that installed. I also picked up a couple items that will help me out greatly when working on my 4Runner, or even my F150 or Patriot for that matter!

 

I need an impact drill in my life.

 

Paid someone who knows what they are doing to re-gear my runner from 4:10 to 4:88.
They were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to anyone in the Phoenix area.

I came so close to pulling the trigger on that exact model today, but, I went back to the Ryobi since that's what most of our tools are, and all of the batteries and chargers are interchangeable between them all. I didn't feel like messing with another set of batteries/chargers. *laughs*

Just finished trimming my body mount on passenger side for the third time and have plenty of clearance now! I can turn full lock to lock and NO body mount rub!

HOWEVER, I backed in my driveway full lock to the right and could hear a slight rub. Went out to look and I think it’s the inner fender well liner as a small part was shiny.

SO, I need to trim that a third time as well! All on the passenger side. Driver has been good.

I also got all my traction controls recalibrated which I am super happy about!

In more exciting news I ordered an RCI skid that integrates with the TRD skid early this week and that comes in tomorrow. Also ordered an ARB awning today and that may come in tomorrow as well. And my Demello sliders are FINALLY on their way! Should have next week! Once those are on I am ready to take this bad boy off road!

All those that read my essay. Couple positive updates (finally). $800 was reimbursed and the company ordered the correct air compressor. Then today my bumper was shipped. Things are kinda looking up. .


Drove the Runner around today to get some more miles on the new gears. Still whines a little going downhill. Things feel good though. I definitely noticed a change in shift points. 3k rpm and I am at 16 mph in first gear which matches up with what I should be getting from:

How are you liking the regear? Did you by chance get lockers installed?

Which system did you go with for the charging mod? Wonder if you had any issues closing the fuse box after that?

 

I went with the dirty parts one and didn’t have any issues with closing the fuse box
