What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

I just picked up a nail in the exact spot. I tried to do a plug in order to drive it to the tire shop but it wouldn’t hold air. Tried two more times, same result. The plugs were just too old and crusty.
Gotta get a fresh kit every few years.
Got a new tire from America’s (aka Discount) Tire with warranty certs.

 

I actually used the warranty on one, tire still had good bit of tread, so they replaced it, just for the insurance on the new one...

 

Oh hell yeah. This is sick. I usually flip my jug upside down and bury it in the snow to keep from freezing. But 1F man, full on Empire Strikes Back situation.

 

Today we threw on a new hitch cover on the Toyota bucking bull. Yeehaw.

Did they wrap it on the truck or pull the bumper to access?

 

Installed my Gobi rack today. Yeah, the wait sucked, but I’m very happy with it. Can’t wait to make use of it.

Sharp looking rig! Which sliders did you choose. I'm envious.

 

Tried to get it muddy, but ceramic coating caused the muddy water to bead up and run off.

I went with Caliraised sliders. Quite happy with them.

I took her to Wadesboro NC and had the sudden realization that highway tires don't do well in the mud! Do any of you have 2 sets of tires? I mostly commute from Charleston SC to charlotte NC and would not make sense to run aggressive tires all the time.

 

I run KO2's 9-9.5 months of the year, then swith out to Cooper Snow Claws for the crap seasons.

 

Lots of salt put down last week... too much, really, for the meager amount of snow we received. So I ran our 4Runner through two washes. I hate that salt residue on the sides and especially the undercarriage.

 

yep we are in the middle of an ice/snow storm. i ran 200 miles yesterday on overly salted highway and will be running around town when the snow dies down, already looking forward to a car wash!

Blacked out the emblems and got a little wheeling in on the Del Sur Ridge, North of Santa Clarita.

 

I realize this is an old post, but I have the kit just haven't started yet. Any advice?

 

First sample was Amsoil but it was pretty much all highway, since I was commuting pretty from work. Second sample was Shell Rotella but did have a lot of off-roading and overloading involved. Also I now live 3 miles from work, so not sure if that effects it at all.

Yeah I’m not to fond of it either. I snow blowed about 6 inches before bed today and slept about 4hours. And went back out and there’s about 16 inches and still snowing.

 

Nice..!! I was looking at these. How much time did it take to deliver?

 

Installed my ditch lights. Having some fitment issues with the brackets (hood won’t close flush). Was able to get the driver side flush. I’ll work on passenger side some more.
