Found a roofing nail in my 2500 miles Falken.
Patched it, but I kinda don't trust the rubber anymore now. It was right in the middle of the track though.

 

So in the actual Tread and not the side or corners ? I wouldn’t worry about that. Hundreds of thousands of people have tires plugged every year and so just fine. If you really really don’t trust it just swap it as your spare.

i would change it, but i have a stock spare, maybe i should change that...

What am I looking at in picture's 2 & 3?

 

plastic cover at door jam, if you can check stock is bare metal.

 

How did you mount the bracket to the molle panel? I am thinking of doing the same setup, but maybe moving the passenger side panel forward towards the engine to hide the radio a bit more. not sure if that is even possible, just a thought. TIA!!!

 

Hey grant what enclosure did you get ? I’m on their site ordering the 2m now does the led plug into an adapter or is it hardwired ?

 

I got the 2.0 meter awning enclosure. Should be with the product for additional options that fit this awning. The LED is already to go just have to plug it into your cigarette lighter. I want to do something else long term (ie: accessory battery). I don’t know what roof rack you got . I have a Gobi stealth and I just bought today the quick release for $90. If you have a welder I would make your own. But the time wasn’t worth it to me so I bought that as well. I hope that helps. If you have any questions let me know

I may have missed the pictures of this installed? Curious how long it is on the 4Runner. Did you get the room attachment also?
As I am 6'4 I was hoping to get the 2500. With my size & an 85# GSD we need a lot of room. I have been eying this for 2 yrs but still have the factory roof rack.

It is a common issue with these vehicles (Tacomas and 4Runners). I’ve worked for Toyota for a number of years and I’ve never actually seen it cause a problem. My Tacoma does the exact same thing.

 

Where did you get the door striker covers, the door check strap covers, and the pedal covers? Gotta have them.

Thank you. I have had it for a few weeks. I really like it. I did post pictures but I will put them below again. I have the 2.0 x 2.5 meter awning. It pulls out 2.5 meters. It goes pretty high at least 7ft. I am only 5’ 7” so you have almost a foot on me so that might be different for you. I know it goes a little higher than that but it definitely isn’t like those awnings that go way up there.

 

I have the front runner and I already have awning mounts that came with it. I wish the bag was black but at the price point i can live with it.

 

I completely agree on the color. I am trying to stick to a color pattern and this throws it off a bit but it gives it character I guess.

 

Maybe a stupid question but what is the length of the awning from truck to stakes? Can I lay straight in it?
I will be adding the enclosed room when I get it. Is there an extension to make a sun shade or must you shorten the covered area for more shade. Is this an extra piece I need to add? I need to talk to my 4x4 shop for all options.

Well it says 2.5 meters from truck to the pull out. I haven’t actually measured it. I haven’t installed the enclosure yet so idk what those measurements are yet either. Sorry

 

Please, just let me know the interior dimensions of the room. I just found the "awning extra". I am really liking this brand.
I missed your first posts due to a snowstorm & I plow.
I cannot find anywhere. Do you need an aftermarket roof rack to mount this awning?

Yeah I will have to put it up eventually so I might do that sometime tomorrow to get you the dimensions.

 

FWIW...I have plugged multiple tires over the years and driven on them for tens of thousands of miles with no problems.

One of them was a Goodyear Duratrac with 2 plugs in the same tire.

Gotta do what you're comfortable with though.

 

I had a huge nail in my tire the other day. I brought it down to the local tire shop. Got it all patched up from the inside of the tires in 2 hours. It was a lot larger than a roofing nail. I have had multiple items in my tires before and not a single problem.

 

So tell me a little about what’s in photo #2 & #3… ? … Brand and Mounting Plate MFG?

The 4Runners (most) comes with blank areas that you can install switches to. Why do we not get an aux switch panel?
Maybe on the 6th gen.

Now for a serious but stupid question I have had for almost 2 years now. We hardly drive @ night (especially with covid) but have had a perplexing time with this silly thing.
Yes, I read the manual front to back upon purchase. I also will ask for directions.
Anyway, is there a button in the cabin that will turn on all the interior lights?
Seriously, I have looked & tried everything. I cannot get all interior lights on without a door open. Is this normal or can I wire a bypass?
