What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Why didn’t you just turn them off ? Then no hot bulb

 

Nothing today. My wife is playing with her Cricut she got for Christmas so somehow my truck is now her canvas .... I installed my rear shackle hitch, decided to paint the trd skid black and the put the red letters back in unless I can find a good gunmetal fusion paint. Ordered king springs to bring the front back up which I think is what is causing the tss sensor to go off with the new bumper. I had the front jacked up momentarily and the light went off.

 

Leave the letters off. Just grab some gun metal paint and a 1/4” wide brush and go to town. Doesn’t have to be dead on, no one sees it.

 

Made a new pull strap for me and a friend of mine.

Yes, I personally bent one and a panhard rod as well. Rolling across a creek I missed the easy up and ran right into a ledge, backed up and did it again. With the Disco, had extra driveshaft, tre's and brake lines, but no panhard...rough drive home (8hrs). I don't really wheel that intensely anymore, but if I did, I'd carry what you can break and fix on the trail.

 

Changed front/rear diff and transfer case fluid.

Installed the Baja Designs Squadron Sport fog lights. Very impressed, brighter than my HID headlights and the amber light exposes a lot of detail at night.

 

Initial test of my cheap pod lights from Amazon. Didn't have much time last night.

(Need to find a way to cover other lights to test just pods. My aux lights are triggered my high beam, meaning when aux light switch is on and turn on high beams both light bar and pods will turn on)

 

Almost 20,000 on her. First change. Front diff and transfer looked clean, probably didn’t need new fluid. Rear diff oil was surprisingly dirty.

 

Toyota puts additives in the rear diff that makes the oil almost look black.

A lot of people mistake it as being dirty.

 

Thx, Good to know, thought it was weird that it would be that dirty looking only after 20k.

 

Yeah, a lot of people are surprised how dirty it looks when they change it.

Nothing to be concerned about.

 

Picked up a roof basket from a local Craigslist ad. Very happy with results/look.

 

Cool. Make sure not to use them in opposing traffic or fog! They are for off-road only.

 

So your Pro didn’t come with a roof rack/basket?

 

It doesn't have the black hood scoop so that would make it an 18 or older. That rack didn't come out til the 19 pros

Oil change, vacuum, tire rotation, and rear diff fluid swap. 72000 miles. Riding smooth.

 

Applied Shin-Etsu silicone grease to my rear hatch seal.

 

Swapped the OEM roof basket for a Prinsu CNC full length rack and light bar

 

Correct! 2016. So basket was new to me.

 

Interested to hear if you have any wind noise from it at any speed. (I don't even keep crossbars since I try to keep the noise to minimum level, but if there is any roof rack that has no wind noise I could move my traction boards, hilift jack, etc..)

Also like to see how the light bar wiring is hidden.

Still get some wind noise with the prinsu at highway speeds. It’s already dark here on the east coast but I can dm you photos manana. I tucked the wire loom that came with it into the guts of the weather strip from the prinsu foot forward and then managed to squeeze it (using plastic pry bars) in the side rubber bit along the edge of the windshield / a pillar and it’s tacked in with a little rtv silicone

Finished the lift on my wife’s, got it aligned and new tires. She’s rocking the cornfed 2/1 kit with 285/70/17 nitto ridge grapplers. Big thanks to @2016 4Runner SR5 for getting it here fast. Ordered on a two days before a holiday and got it the day after the holiday. She is very happy.
You can also see her 2/1 kit sits taller in the front than my 2.5 /1.5 bilstein kit after the bumper and winch. I’m about a 1/4 lower than her I measured and I’ve lost 3/4 inch with having the secondary battery, bumper and winch on there plus sliders, and all the other.

 

I have the Artec Roof Rack kit. No noise but low profile does require removing crossbars to put accessories on. I have had about 6 months and am very pleased with it.

I used the exact same Auxito for 194s, they seem good quality.
In my 2021 Corolla hatchback, the festoon doesn't fit, they say 31mm, but i cant fit it in the housing for the life of me. I have a back and forth with them now.

 

The color doesn't really bother me, it's the size, I wish they made one smaller and modern for the tranny. That moose knuckle is meh.
