What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Got it dirty. Checked out crawl control.

 

Ordered a Gobirack. Minimum of 16 weeks wait time ... good that I have a solution for the roof top tent for the time being.

 

I'd wait it out. Some people don't check this place everyday. Give him the benefit of the doubt until it's no longer reasonable to do so.

 

I originally had a larger hatchback style box with a JL w6v3 12” sub in the back; but was taking up way too much space. I sold that setup, and put in an audio designs box in its place w/ the audio mobile 10” they pair with it.

Def a downgrade from what I had; but it still sounds great for what I listen to. Saves a lot of space too, which of course was the whole point. Looks more OEM as well.

It was supposed to come with a grill, which was missing; waiting for a reply back on what happened. Guessing it was just an oversight and hopefully they’ll send me it soon.

Note the spare tire location is temporary; have bumper and swing out on order. But probably still at least a few weeks out. Still waiting on the cargo basket too.

 

Toyo AT3 285/70R17, on KMC Dirty Harry wheels. Just put them on not too long ago.

 

Not working and a little bored so I did some custom work on the engine cover. I saw someone else on here had done something similar in white and thought it looked kind of cool so I thought id give it a go...Its actually a little darker than it looks in the pic and almost matches the magnetic grey, perfectly!

 

Whoa! Those are as nice as the Remington rims....

 

It was my first time driving on ice on the road today. My SR5 has the Dueler tires stock. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how planted my 4Runner was on the ice in both RWD and 4WD. I don't think I've ever driven something this composed on the ice before. There was even one intersection where I was stopped and on the ice and had to turn left. I gave it more gas than I was giving it up to that point, and it was fine. (I made sure to wait for everybody to pass by.) I think I like these Dueler tires for street use.

 

What make/model are those sliders? Any other photos of them on the vehicle? Thank you.

Even though I haven't even received my 4Runner yet, I've went ahead and ordered a Pedal Commander, and getting some price quotes on 275/70R17 tires (Either General Grabber ATX, Falken Wildpeaks, or my old standby of Hankook Dynapro AT2s). Soon as I get this truck those are all going onto it. Figured I'll get a bit of a head start while waiting for it to arrive!

 

Gave her a wash and 2nd oil change. Shop was trying to sell me on Amsoil, saying it would last for a little over a year. Has anyone tried this stuff?

 

Curious about the Pedal Commander and if it's worth the investment??

Amsoil is good stuff, ran it in my Shelby Mustang. Regardless, I still use Toyota oil in my 4Runner. Toyota oils is made by ExxonMobil I believe and is similar to Mobil1 but is made to Toyota specs.

 

Best performance mod I have made, makes the 4Runner drivable.

I've never used it before, either. Everything I've been reading and hearing about it makes it seem like it'll definitely be worth it, though.

Thanks! I'll look into a set of those as well. I'll run on the stock suspension for a while, but, down the road I'm thinking about putting some Bilstein 5100s or Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks on it to either level it out, or maybe even go up another inch or so.

 

Had my 21 OFRD Premium 3 weeks, so far LED interior lights, full tint, ordered the Billstein 5100 to raise the front 1.5 (should be in next month), small mods inside as well with a cool (IMO) rubber red inserts for cup holders, door cut outs etc. keeping my Nitto RG 265/70/17 for now. Hit 1000 miles today! Happy Holidays all!

I had the same question @ about 5k miles. Posted here & got the same response. It is that (EPA) vacuum behind passengers headlight "cleaning" any evaporated fuel etc.

 

Hey Kevin, Heard that noise on my 17 Pro and my 20 Pro. I believe I read it in the manual about the noise.

 

Same here, read about it but never understood until I went out to the garage one day and heard it

 

Just an FYI your full size spare does fit in the OEM location under the truck. No need to keep it in the cargo area.

 

I’d rather not though; spare takes a beating under there. Especially now that it’s salt season here.

If I was going on a trip right now where I needed the cargo space (between now and bumper/swing out arriving), I’d throw it back under there just for the trip at least though.
