What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

I have a feeling that it will be a love or hate color for people. I for one am falling in love with it very quickly without seeing one in person.

 

I have. It's subtle and I think will look good in the dirt.

 

congrats i finally saw one in person its a really nice color on the 4R i diid not care for it on the Rav4 but on the Runner looks good.

 

They put that color on a Rav4? Why do they do this... the 4Runner has way different lines. I loved the "old" exclusivity of the Pro colors. Using them elsewhere is just wrong!

 

It came on the Rav's first starting with the 2019 models.

The Pros just borrowed it.

I'm sure they saw how popular it was with the Ravs and decided it would be well received on the Pros.

We all know Toyota likes to re-use colors.

 

I saw a Army Green 4R at the dealer for sale with the off road package with black off road rims and the venture basket on it
if i had bought a AG Pro i would be very unhappy with Toyota.

 

Rago rear Molle panels and tso front Molle panels don’t mind the dirty interior I cleaned it up and yes I used the potato 9000 in direct sunlight for pictures.

 

Did a little trail run when in North Carolina on my hunting trip. Just a logging road, nothing challenging at all but got to exercise the 4WD system a bit.

 

I purchased a second set of stock ORP Rims to use with my Bridgstone Blizzak snow tires. I decided to see what they would look like in matte black so I used 2 cans of Plasti Dip on them. I left the Toyota Symbol chrome for now.. keep debating about painting it red, but I know true OR Pro folks get offended as us lower level folks mimic their beauties. Tires are stock sized.. Took a bit to of time for the car to recognize the second set of TPMS, but all good to go now.

Stock + Plastidip to compare plus final all Plasti dip.

Red will look great.

 

The black looks better to me. I painted my stock SR5 wheels gloss black and the logos matte black for just a little contrast.

This is more of what my 5th gen did to me then what I did to it... was going to a car wash with my wife, separate cars - she was getting her car washed, too. On the way there she zooms past me (I do drive rather slow lol) and I sent her a text asking what the heck was that. She replies “oh, just clearing out the pipes”. And this is where things got weird So.... my 2020 has apple car play, and I was using hands free talk to text. I chose to reply, and dictate: “lol. Calm down” - to which the car, before acknowledging the message sent as usual replies “I am glad you found that funny.” - and then sends the message. But, in case anyone missed that - THE CAR - between Alexa and Siri - someone said “I am glad you found that funny”... wth!?!? This is the first time it has done that and it was kinda cool and unnerving at the same time.... crazy stuff.

 

Big Brother is listening and watching...be afraid, be very afraid!
