Honestly, I like the white lettering out. If you go the black out everything route it may look out of place, but the white letters out look good on it as is

White walls are like politics. That's all I can say except I won't even buy a tire if it has any white. Since our rigs stand tall they stick out and look worse on the inside. If you put them in, use a permanent marker and black em out

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I had Grabbers on my '05 Grand Cherokee. I liked them enough that when they wore out I got another set. First set was letters out but my wife had a terrible habit of scuffing them on curbs so the second set was letters in. I used Duplicolor black tire paint on the letters. It lasts a loooong time. dupli-color-black-tire-paint-11-oz-21.jpg

So I just popped off the mud flap (3 x10 mm, two pop it clips) and trimmed some. You do lose a little connection for the flap on the inside so I Jerry rigged a zip tie to stop the inside of the flap from dangling. Ultimately as NIMBY as said could have solved it with a bit more caster on alignment, but wasn’t able to get the truck in for that, and I’m waiting on a lift so I’ll do it then. Took about 10-15 minutes, trimmed with a pair of electrical snips. All in all you can barely tell it was trimmed. Seems like a fine temporary solution. Can always replace the flap from someone who took theirs off. (Note mine is 2020, and I know somewhere over the years of 5th gen, the flap style and attachement changed)

Any plans to address the leak? Have you tried another dealership?

Escalated it to Toyota corporate by calling and starting a case. They allegedly called the dealership and researched the situation. They sided with the dealership and said this is not a warranty issue.

They told me that it's not a mechanical failure so it's not covered.

Keep all paperwork. When it fails and you end up with an overheated engine and failed head gaskets or worse, they’ll be sorry they didn’t swap the water pump like they should have. Any leak is unacceptable, period.

Was a neat phone call with the rep from corporate. I asked how much leaking would be unacceptable and he couldn't tell me. I then asked the Toyota recommended service interval for monitoring water pump leaks and he of course again had no answer.

I then explained to him how a leaking water pump not being covered under a powertrain warranty makes no sense. He just kept reading off his script about how "this will not be covered under warranty"

Very sorry to hear this. Maybe you can find an independent Toyota licensed repair shop to examine your problem and explain to Toyota what is happening.
You would think a dealer would want to do the work under warranty as Toyota pays them... not really sure what to make of this.
    Please, keep us informed!
    Ryan.

Well it’s not extravagant, but put in some
Husky floor liners before the long MN winter. Tried the husky rear cargo, but didn’t seem flush. Anyone have any favorites for cargo area to help keep clean and rid of dog hair? Also same for interior LED kits?upload_2020-10-29_13-2-14.jpg

I have the same front/rear floor liners and love them, especially at half the cost of WeatherTech. As for the rear cargo, while I dont have them yet (likely spring 2021) I believe a favorite of the forum is https://www.canvasback.com/

For the interior LED upgrade. I went with LASFIT. The middle and rear cargo lights are arriving today, but I did the front cabin and was impressed with the sheer brightness. I also went with the same company for front/rear turn signals, side marker, license plate light and reverse lights. I don't think you'll be disappointed whatsoever.

thanks for the heads up! I've been checking out the Canvasback that was recommended. I see they are from my State, so probably going to support the local business!

I have the same front and rear liners, and so far so good. I actually think I like them better then the weathertech I've had in the past as they seem to shed dirt more easily.

As for the cargo area, I'm still using the stock cargo mat since it was already there, but I went against the grain a bit and chose cargo liner instead of canvasback.

Decided to throw some Wildpeak AT3s on. OEM sizing and waiting on 5100s all the way around once the back-order is fulfilled. Also installed Runnin 4 Tacos blacked out mirror indicators. A good day!B6590503-6670-43F5-AB7B-BDD28F8DC859.jpg

    The same 4Runner everyone has
This was a few weeks ago but I met up with some old friends at Dove Springs for an impromptu weekend. We each got COVID tests to make sure we didn't bring anything home to our families. The offroading there is really geared more towards zipping around on dirtbikes and buggies rather than exploration, but it was still fun. Highlights included visiting the Burro Schmidt tunnel and getting buzzed by a plane (you can see it for a brief glimpse in the video, shame I had the timelapse enabled instead of the standard video).
