What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

I think it changed for 19+ models. Mine is a 19, but I bought it in October of 2018.

 

It really was. Every time I come to Colorado I question my life choices and why I still live in KS.

Hadn’t thought of that but you’re right, it does! We heard some reports of elk in the area but didn’t see any. Hunters were out in force though.

 

Is it rubbing forward of your front tire or behind you front tire?

Have you had an alignment done? If so, what was the caster number?

 

Just received the title to my Pro. Now Bajadesigns led bar is on its way shipped to me. Have the Tail and turn lights coming for the rear. Just have to find time for the install.

 

Yeah I was surprised Kevin I received it so quick after paying my Pro off. I think it only took about a week.

 

picked up the TRD bronze wheels last week. for those of you wondering what they actually look like out in the sun here ya go. I’ll prob get them mounted within the next couple of weeks.

Yes, I was surprised too. All the brochures showed the OR with chrome rails. I was super pleased to see them black. The OR in Canada is the ORP in US. Same for the SR5, here it’s the premium trim.

 

They rub in the front of the tire. I can see where it rubs on the bumper plus I had a buddy visually confirm it. I have not had an alignment done to it. Didn’t think it would need it with wheel and tire change. Never did it before on my Jeep or Chevy so I thought it would be fine on the 4runner.

 

nice! I thought about going with these but I saw one the day before I bought them and thought they looked like “dirty” rims lol decided to go with the gun metal instead and I am pleased

 

when i bought the 4runner last year, i told myself that if they ever made them in bronze i’d get them... lucky me

That's an easy fix.

Look up the fender liner mod for our trucks and do that. It requires minimal tools and will take you all of 10 minutes per side.

 

I had S2 sports laying around form the thanksgiving promo they ran last year. Was going to do a rear fog and 1 aux reverse light went a different route
Any who got some wide yellows Added lamin-x tint. The TRD OR does not use the two factory mounts on the skids so I ran some m6 1.25 turned out well
The factory grommet has an extra tit you just lop it off and in the cabin you go

 

well I wish it was on the fender liner. But it’s not. It’s on the fender itself...

 

Get a flap wheel sander and clearance it. Easy peasy.

 

That's what the mod cuts. I was nervous at 1st but it's easy as the videos show. I used a razor knife

 

Performed my trucks first oil/filter change today. Also installed some LED reverse lights.

 

Why do they look like they are metallic grey in pics? … guess it’s my phone.

 

I used a box cutter on mine. Super easy.

Just a little trim goes a long way.

Finish it up with a little touch up paint if you want.

Or not. I just left mine and you wouldn't even be able to tell.

 

i know what you mean...but these are bronze. they first thing the parts guy said when i went to pick them up was, “you know that these wheels are bronze, right?”

i’m still trying to decide between toyo at3 and nitto terra grappler

 

No regrets with my decision to go with the ridge grapplers over the terra grapplers. They have performed great this weekend in CO and the road noise was not bad on the 9 hr drive in.

When trying to find my 2020 TRDORP, I was dead-set on getting KDSS. I was texting a salesman and asked if the vehicle he was pushing came with KDSS. His response: "It's a TRD off road, they all come with KDSS."

 

Removed the badges today, she’s naked.

 

More staring at mine depressingly... ETA for coilovers extended out another two weeks

Also still waiting on Marlin Crawlers gussets too, hoping they ship this week and can get those knocked out at least. May also proactively knock out a CMC while everything is apart and out of the way.

 

ARK ENGINE SPLASH GUARDS

 

I've seen a mix of rails either silver or black, as well as black rails, but sliver end caps, or the other way around, or all matching (Black or silver). Just take your rack apart and those rails are 2 pieces, then get them powder coated. Mine was $40 to get it powder coated.
