Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I'm 4X4ing every chance I get! It's awesome! I just did some light off roading in one of the Englishtown Auction parking lots that doesn't see much use these days in order to give my 4X4 low gears a workout, and it was so much fun! Except for some cars near the entrance to the flea market, I had the whole place to myself. This was so cool!

Unfortunately the photo doesn't capture so well how dirty my 4Runner is, but whatever. 4X4!!!

My Antics Design 3D printed footwell fuse box cover also popped off on its own today. I thought it was secure, and it was solid for a month, but it popped off while I was driving on the road, not while off roading. I can see it's doing the 3D printed thing where the plastic curves out of shape, so I'm going to see what I can do with the box from here on out. Maybe I'll buy another official Toyota fuse box cover and use it as a base with better clips for the Antics one. I could glue the Antics one to the Toyota one and cut away what needs to be cut from the Toyota one. I just hope the glue holds up.

Bad advise. Mechanics do not change oil at dealerships. Unskilled labor does. I've read 100s of horror stories from the free oil changes and not just Toyota.
Stripped oil plugs, skid plate bolts stripped, to much oil, not enough oil, no oil= blown engine, broken mirrors, scratched body parts, cigarette smell in ride, and many more. No thank you. I asked my dealer of I could supervise for the above reasons...said no. I asked if they could give me the oil...umm no
Gladly bought my own and changed it = peace of mind

Blacked out grill and rear emblem. More on the way!
My previous car took me about 6-7 hours to replace my alternator. Shroud, fan, intake, rad hoses, expansion tank, serpentine belt, pulley and top off coolant. Glad Toyota doesn't over engineer the way the German's do haha

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
No way in hell I'd let a dealer drone do an oil change and most likely cross thread some bolts, not tighten the plug, mess up the filter or do any other of the multiple mess ups that others here have told about. Their oil change "techs" are for the most part clueless and shouldn't be allowed to touch a wrench.

FYI. For warranty purposes I just buy a filter from them with the milage in the information box. The GM of the dealership said that is sufficient. They can check milage or an oil sample. I do it ever 5k except this year...
    Maybe yearly with no travel.

That sucks! I do not know what the 4Runner windshields cost, depending how you have your insurance setup, the deductible is some times close to just buying the windshield yourself.

My insurance will replace at no out of pocket cost to me.

I would have to pay if I want to insist OEM. Doubt I will though. I've had Safelite do my last few vehicles that have needed one and have been happy with the results.

Just was a little concerned on the 4Runner because of the heating element in the glass for the wiper de-icer.

I took off the roof rails and bed linered them. Happy with the results. Put butyl on the rubber gaskets and used blue Lock Tight on the bolts. I hope there's no leaks. I'm tired now but tomorrow I'll give it a wash and look to see if roof liner is wet any place.DSCN5537.jpg DSCN5538.jpg DSCN5539.jpg

Between yesterday and this morning, I did what I could to reshape my Antics footwell fuse box cover for 2020. It had fallen out while on the street yesterday. I used a couple old Neo Geo MVS video game cartridges, a hifi ferrite core clip on thingy, a couple jars of salsa, a hair dryer, my fingers, and my brain. I was able to get the 3D printed style bend mostly out of the unit with weight and gravity and reshape some of the plastic with my fingers after getting it really hot so the clips will ideally hold better. I put the cover on this afternoon, and it went on easier this time than it ever did when I first got it new. I'm hoping that means it'll remain in good working order this time.

I let the paint dry for about an hour before installing the rails and they slid right on with no problem and no scratching either.

Replaced the already corroding original rear license plate screws with titanium ones (used a tiny bit of anti-sieze).
I have about 3500 miles on this vehicle and couldn't believe how bad the OEM ones looked already.

Still researching lift kit and spacers. Once those are picked out meatier tires for sure. But Definitely not gonna waste money...still have 6 good months on the stockers. Nice try tho;)

Whatever. She be lookin good tho

Which is weird because the Baja SAE fog lights are actually dimmer than stock halogen fogs.

H9 bulbs are a great replacement for factory H11 low beams. Nearly double the output with factory-correct optics. In case you're interested.
