Installed Baja Designs squadron sports amber foglights in place of the useless OEM ones on my new 2020 TRD ORP. I have the squadron sports on my Tacoma, and they are really useful the unpaved local road that has ancient rock walls on the sides and lots of free range cattle.
The passenger (right) side had a cover over the original foglight. There was none over the lefthand foglight. So we figured they left it off at the factory.
I asked the dealer about it, and they tell me the build only specs one. They sent a picture from the parts book, which seems ambiguous as to whether there is one or more. They call it a "front bumper reinforcement cover". Pictures of the part and the parts book are below.
Does anyone know if there are supposed to be 2?

The cover you found is to protect the light in case something drips on it. I looked once before but I think the coolant overflow as well as the power steering or something else is right above the fog lamp (only on passenger side). It is there for wire protection.
    Hope it helps.

WeatherTech mats. Really like the new design. Plenty of coverage, nice sized tub to store runoff. The older ones were tough on your feet if you drive barefoot. These are more comfortable. Somehow I can't keep them clean and dry around here.

IPhone hybrid mounting system. Works well, the Hondo Garage Perfect Squeeze is a beautifully machined, micro adjusting billet unit.

The Baja Designs stuff always works great for me. Super nice, helpful folks to deal with, too.

Beside the “front bumper reinforcement cover” did the install go ok? Any issue with the Baja brackets? I had asked BD a couple of months ago and they said they had not determined if the brackets would work on the 2020 models.

I read that the cover does indeed protect the light from moisture, but mainly the tire spray from the slots in the inner fender well.
Those slots are there to aid in the pick up of fresh air to the air filter inlet on the inner fender well, under the hood.
The left fender well doesn't have those slots. :mudding::crapstorm:

With the attic storage in the garage done I’ve been able to do a lot of cleaning and organizing. I finally got my toolbox unburied and I have some space to work.

Easy install. Looks like they were meant for those openings, and aimed well.

Yep, as others have said there is only one installed on the passenger side. It's kind of a bear to get back on too.

Also you may already know this, but just as a heads up; those squadron sports are neither fog lights nor street legal. They are offroad lights, and meant to be used in clear weather only. Please don't use them if there is any oncoming traffic, as you will dazzle other drivers. And since they do not have a horizontal cutoff, they will throw lots of glare back in your face if used in fog or heavy snow.

Check out this thread if you are interested in street legal, SAE compliant fog light pods. Links to each review are at the top of the first post:

Baja Designs does have an SAE approved street legal fog light pocket kit.

Yes, and they are not a great offering at all. They weren't great performers to begin with, and were found to be non compliant due to excessive glare. Then they nerfed the optic even more by hastily adding a glare shield, to the point that they are actually dimmer than factory halogen lamps.

You can see that test here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...og-light-review.554813/page-152#post-23119201

    And Baja Designs response here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...og-light-review.554813/page-156#post-23278864

Baja Designs makes fantastic offroad lighting (I own and love my S2 ditch lights), but their SAE fog offering is garbage. I also don't think highly of their decision to market their squadron sport and pro lights as "fog lights" as they are simply offroad spot/flood lights that happen to fit in round fog bezels. I've driven against way too many idiotic drivers with these turned on full time on the road, and it is an extremely annoying trend.

I find the Baja Sports to be perfect for my unusual needs. I am not using them in traffic. To get home I drive late night hours on a rough, mostly unpaved twisty remote road that has almost no traffic on it, and lots of hazards from black cattle to sharp lava rock chunks and even minor landslides & running rivers across the roadway that can be hard to see. With the squadron sports aimed low and out, they provide excellent side & close in visibility I need. I also run a 30" lightbar, and that provides a distance visibility option in areas where I want it.

Sometimes it is the small things. Like light.
I know there are a few flashlight fanatics here as well. I just got it & it is bright as hell.
Comes @ 70% charge. It is going in the 4runner now. Cold & rainy day here...

I will advise on the quality later as we just got it... I do like Nebo for the price point! We have a few of them.

They do look cool! And most lighting from Baja Designs is built to perform. But if you're going to spend money on a fog light replacement, there are better options. The SS3 fog pod from Diode Dynamics is brighter, wider, and fully SAE compliant (street legal).

Sure thing! J583 is the SAE standard for street legal fog lighting.

Also, several companies make lights that are J581 compliant, meaning they are street legal to use as auxiliary high beams, when installed and aimed as a pair to supplement your existing high beams. KC HiLiTES, Rigid Industries, and Diode Dynamics again to name a few. These are the SS3 pods I installed as auxiliary high beams. Same light chassis as the fogs, but a different optic for a street legal driving pattern.
