What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Went up in tire size from 265/70/17 to 285/70/17 Wildpeak AT3W on TRD wheels. Minor rub on trim (will Fix with mud flap trimming). Full size spare barely fits w/KDSS. Bilstein 6112/5160 lift and Built Right UCA’s.

 

Finally installed the lift..

 

that’s pretty cool. The chrome on the lugs never really stood out to me but for 25 bucks may do that. What holds them on?

 

Where did you get the emblem on your lower front grill?

Why did you remove the grill and bumper?

 

Anybody run Baofeng ham radio here? Just picked up my ham license and was looking for ways to mount my handheld for offroading trips. If you do post a pic of your setup. Need some ideas.

 

I just mounted mine on the dash. Pretty easy install.

 

We kinda just let ours bounce around haha. I do use the "CB" style mic/speaker combo and clip it to shirt/seat belt etc. We have not come up with a good solution yet.

 

Sounds like a 30 min job. lol

 

Thought about trying to utilize those two small cubbies at the bottom of the main unit somehow. I don't ever use them for anything so i could probably hot glue a mount of some sort into it and have it come out with a ram mount.

They slide over the lug nut pretty snugly. I haven't been off-road with them on but through regular driving they haven't moved.

 

We are going to install a RAM mount in the little weird cubby in the console that doesnt fit anything useful typically. The RAM base fits in it pretty well.

 

This is what we were doing but it falls over. The RAM will screw\bolt right in then we will attach it

 

Which base plate were y'all thinking about using?

 

adding/changing valance requires access to the tabs behind the bumper. as for grille, i believe he added the heritage grile

 

Might have to steal your idea. I like that spot but didn't think a ram mount would fit it. That'll keep it out of the way of the dash stuff and doesn't mess up the cup holder ability.

Thanks! I'll be installing the suspension two weeks from Saturday. The winch will go in when the bumper and skids arrive. I can't wait!

 

Its really nice, getting the uca's makes a big difference imo
