Where did you find a Trd one? I thought they were discontinued. I have been looking since we got our T4R!
    Thanks.

I got them a while ago, when they were still available. I really dislike the fact that the 4runner key fobs looks like the ones for the Corolla, Camry, etc. I really like AJT key fobs, I have one for my Tacoma as well.

Honestly, the black & red one is ugly. I think you would be better off selling it to me! Lol
Did you really have to cut your factory key off?
    Thanks,

No, the black and red one is for my Tacoma Pro (smart key-push start) The other one is for my 4Runner Pro, both are AJT design key fobs.

I was just planning on putting it on raw, but its a little rough in places. That is not really a bad thing, but i would rather it be more consistent, so i may rough the whole thing up and see how i like it.

Did they at least warn you it would come out a little rough if you ordered it raw?

No they did not say anything about it, actually I thought it would all be smooth.I will go over it with some sandpaper and see how i like it, if i have to i will just paint it, but the reason i ordered it unfinished was to put it on el-natural. Oh yeah i almost forgot, if you are not careful you could slice yourself pretty good on the edges.

What if you took a 4" angle grinder to the exposed parts & try to give it a cool swirl texture? For the price of an aluminum front skid you would think they would make it look nice! There are tons of silver TRD plates people love.
I am sorry you received it that way. I personally would be unhappy. A nice aluminum texture cannot be that hard for a company like Victory 4x4. I see at least 4 different colors as it is (I know some is from the heat of welding) . Nothing against you.
I think for the price of Victories items are already high. I would expect the finished product to resemble that quality.
I want a lot of their products, but if this is how they look.?
Hopefully they will see this & help us understand.
    Congratulations on the armor!
    @victoryrunner please advise. Thanks!

Looks stout! What's nice is their logo looks more like a design instead of spelled out VICTORY which would be hideous.

Yeah, it is pretty stout. The problem i have is the finish, there is no way you could just paint it without sanding all the grinding marks out. It is going to take some work.

Bummer. I really like the look of aluminum skid plates, but I couldn't put it on my truck like that. They should have asked about your intended use and polished it out for you if you bought it like that.

This in my mind is not a finished product, i am not trying to beat anyone up on this, i ordered it bare because that is how i wanted to mount it. I am a little disappointed :(

Raw will always have finishing work needed. That’s why you saved a big chunk of change.
My sliders were raw, which meant having to sand them, prime them, then paint them.

Check out the RCI aluminum skids. They look nothing like that. Very clean. But not sure if the price between the two is better with the raw Victory? I think I would be kinda bummed with that finish also @SlvrSlug but it is under the vehicle. Still for the price of this stuff you do expect it to be cleaner than that. Anyway can't wait to see it bolted up.

After thinking about it, you only really see the very front of it when it's on the vehicle. Maybe you could hit the front again to make it more uniform and then shoot the front with clear coat. That may do the trick.

Ok, i know it’s only a freaking skid plate, but i have been sanding on this thing for a while now with 80 grit, i still can not get the grinder gouging out of it. I did not want to bash anyone, but this is bs. The worst area is the area you are going to see when installed. I also have a question, the nuts for the filter door are not welded to the plate, is there enough room to get your hand in there to hold the nuts when you take the door plate off?

How much did it cost you? Just curious if you got some type of discount or if they really ship them like that for full price. My steel one from victory 4x4 cost 285 shipped, and came powder coated. I figured the aluminum ones would be just as nice... powder coated or not... They should look nice. I fully understand being disappointed especially if you didn't know it would come looking like that.

And yes you can reach the nuts for the filter door... But it's not very convenient... The install video shows those clip on nuts, that would of been way more convenient. Not sure why they changed it.

I still need to order the filler plate from RCI.

I would not be happy with that fit & finish either. On another note, why didn't they recede the bolt heads? You drag those over a few rocks & you will not be able to get (what looks like an Allen wrench) into the bolt head.Screenshot_20200116-170306_Chrome.jpg
If you look through all the pictures it appears they have a lot of variations.
Good luck John. Sorry it looks unfinished.

Yea I'd just paint it and be done with it. I wouldn't want to use it as is either. Or maybe sand blasting it would work. Keep the metal look but make it look more uniform...

I took it to a blasting shop this mourning, he said to clean it up (deep grinder marks) $125.00 and would powder coat it, about a week for the turn around.
