What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Viper has offered this feature for years. It's a paid service, just like remote connect is for Toyota. Same goes for Mercedes Benz. You have to pay for the connection options because, like you said, there is a cellular data connection. And yes, the Entune 3.0 system has an option to pay for in-car wifi powered by Verizon cellular. Your car basically becomes a Verizon wireless hotspot that you can connect devices to. I've been thinking about subscribing to that because I have AT&T and having both Verizon and AT&T service available would be beneficial in those areas where AT&T coverage is bad.

 

Remote starters don't need to do any splicing anymore. The units are all plug and play now. check out https://accessorides.com/. No experience installation done by random guy https://youtu.be/3-yBdS54-Z0 The ability to start from a phone app always requires a paid service. The Toyota remote connect included (1 year free service). You get a free trial to start but you have to pay to continue to use all the connected features of the new trucks.

No but I know there are real monsters there. I have hunted black bear there but no success. One of the other hunters got a 468 lb one two years ago that I saw when they were skinning it out. HUGE. This year one guy got a 604 lb one the week before I got there. I would have loved to see that thing! I got there a week too late for bear season this year. Maybe in 2020.

 

Weather was kinda nice (50) yesterday so I got a chance to install the fangs on the front.

 

oooh im gonna get both and swap em out on occasion!

Looks like a great time! Also looks like a good long bath was needed, I cannot imagine that was fun.

 

Filled it up with non-ethanol 90 octane and it’s a Snotty rainy day here in the Sunshine State so I detailed the interior with my Favorite Detaler supplies.

 

Me too. The first year is free, and then $10/month for remote start, lock, unlock and vehicle location. Just took delivery of a 2020 army green TRD Pro yesterday......

 

Out curiosity what did you pay for that pure gas ? I filled up with some last week but haven’t noticed much of a mpg difference yet cause I haven’t driven it much, drive my work truck all week and only drive the runner on weekends I think I paid like $3.40 or $3.50 gas was high again in Ohio of course when I needed gas ...I have noticed it runs way smoother and quieter sounding ..

I’ve been running it for a few years in my vehicles and small engines. I also find the T4R runs great on this type of Fuel. The price ranges from 2.79 to around 3.50 a gallon here. Thanks.

 

Chemical guys is one of my favorites! What's leather in a 4runner?

The Rep at Chemical Guys recommended the Spray leather for the seats and door trim.

 

Got my 4runner back from the body shop Friday. Still not perfect but I don't think they could ever get it back to perfect so I just accepted it as it was. I'm done with them.


But I'm super happy to have it back. I had 3 different rentals during that process and none were even close to as nice as my runner. I missed it!

 

Congratulations on the return of your 4r! I do wish it had come out better for you. I guess the only solution is to get her out on some trails & get it pinstriped! Then get a nice wetsand & ceramic coating on her.

Nice interior! What are you using to cover the gap between the seat and the center console? Where the trd logo is at?

 

The body shop had my truck for 4 days and I was going crazy...I could only imagine your frustration. And they left mine dirty as hell and they got some type of chemical on the window/plastic door jam. It was a bear to get off and some is still on the plastic. Glad it worked out.

I found them on eBay about a year ago.
Here’s a similar set. Mine took a few weeks to get From China and were half the price. The Quality is decent and I really like having them.
Mine came with the writing facing the same direction on both. I wish it was the opposite, but no biggie.

 

Playing with paint. Still thinking of going with raptor liner. Will see how the wet sanding goes.

I'm not happy with how far the Bullbar hangs off the front end, that's for sure....looks abnormal....but it serves a purpose as I don't want to destroy my truck if I hit a deer as often happens here in Alabama....Plus, what's done is done and there's no looking back...

 

I just don't like the look of bull bars period

 

I heard they actually cause more damage of you hit something

 

They absolutely do. There is no structure, they are just there for looks. That'll fold into the bumper and grill and cause more damage than just the deer would have. That's also assuming you hit the deer dead center which is unlikely since human nature is to try and avoid the collision all together.
