Yeah, I thought about plasti-dip but it's way too cold right now to be messing around with that. I could probably have used an exacto knife and a few hours of my time hand trimming the badges or maybe i'll take a tire paint marker to them at some point. Just not sure why Toyota decided to cut corners on this one part.

Playing cards between the rim and tire could have saved you a bunch of mess and cleanup.

I used a product called dip release, it is supposed to help it come off pretty easily. We will see how well it works.

Looks great! It appears that you went through all the proper steps (release & predip spray) to make them look good for years to come.
I will say that we have never had luck leaving the wheels on the vehicle when doing this. The plastic always stuck to somewhere & the dip would run.
Congratulations if you got it to work. If it messes up when you go to take the tape & plastic off. Let me know, I can give you some tips. Did you get the dip coat?

I had good luck with black dip on my 3rd Gen 4Runner, but I did a second set of wheels and it didn't work out. We will see how this works. I hopefully prepped well enough. I used degreaser the day before and then cleaned them up right before I started the process. I am going to pull the bag here in a minute and see how that goes.

We just used a lot of tire shine! The dip couldn't stick to it & painted right over the rubber then peeled it off in one big circle!
Same concept as the "release" just a lot cheaper.

I think I like it. But, the overspray is throwing me off.

Please post a picture after you clean the tire off.:)

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Took her on the first long trip from NY to North Carolina to do some hunting. 860 miles. She ran great, averaged almost 20MPG with some local driving down there. Had about 250 lbs of meat and I don't know how much weight in ice in the coolers plus all my hunting stuff. It did have a bit of a squat in the rear but handled normally. On dark, country roads the H9 conversion made a huge difference. So much better than the H11's.

The nice thing with the 2020 you can start it with the remote. It’s built into the 4runner.

Not sure. But whenever you have extra bells and whistles it’s always more cost to fix things. It’s seems that way. Lol.

I would have rather the key start in my 2020 Pro but I wanted the extras more than what my 17 Pro had. Cannot do much about the push start.

My dealership quoted me $499 for key fob start & app start. He said I could start it anywhere in the world (so long has both have wifi). If I wanted our 4runner to run & charge the battery just click here.
Not sure how full of shit he was. I don't want half my ecu wires spliced to accomplish this. That is half the problems with the remote starts from the '90's.
    Just my opinion.

Anyone know if the remote starters in the pros are installed at the factory or at port?

I know. That is why I didn't ask further. The parts counter @ my dealership is incompetent as hell. It maybe something with satellites & the XM antenna.
I really didn't listen once he said $499! The seats get hot in about 30 seconds & carista fixed the baking in the sun issue.
I don't think $500 is worth it. Anyone have any points that would sell me on such an item?
    Thanks to all!

This feature is called "remote connect" and it is only available with the 15 speaker premium audio system found on the TRD Pro and the limited. Just go to Toyota's website and do a compare between the models to see what options you can get.

Truck doesn’t need WiFi. These devices work over the cell network. The app on your phone communicates with a third-party, and then the third party send a start message to the module in your vehicle. So even if you’re out of country, but can get on WiFi, you can use the app to start your vehicle.
