What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

ADS Coilovers, rear shocks, and Dobinsons 2.5” rear coils installed a couple days ago. New tires coming soon. Will probably be 295’s.

 

Looks good now just lose the chrome steps

 

That's next, just need them for the kid-o's.
The steps are hideous.

Had the 20k mile service done. (Bought it at the end of July, 2018, so I feel like I'm racking them up)

 

2.5” and 250lb coils. 650lb coils up front

Added a touch of ambiance to the TuRD with the limited foot well light mod.

 

Got new puddle lights. Won't have time to install for a few days.

I wired a set of 36" Opt 7 LED strips into the dome light circuit and mounted them to brackets I made on the sides of the frame rails facing down. They light up the whole under side of the truck on both sides when doors are unlocked or opened. No need for a switch, I would never have a need to have them on for any reason besides entry lights.

 

Mods are addictive on the runner. I'm like a kid on Christmas and can't wait! I'll get the switch, video on line says install is 6 minutes. Probably take me an hour lol

Thats just it, its in R&D along with the plug and play harness for it. May never get here, but we are hopeful.

I just assumed they'd be plug and play. So what's involved in the installation? Is there splicing into OEM mirror wiring involved? Or are they wired into the engine bay?

The puddle lights are plug and play, but the plans for the added switch will give you more control of them, like turning them on without unlocking the vic.

 

"The foot well lights were only available as part of the “Limited” trim model as shown above, and are unfortunately fully integrated into the main dash harness. The integrated lights themselves were a crimp on style that is not available in part form from Toyota, or the original OEM manufacturer for Toyota. Through searching and multiple trials and errors, a plug and play light solution was found by utilizing an OEM Toyota LED modules from another model that matches the 4Runner perfectly in addition to utilizing factory OEM connectors. This harness gives other trim levels the Limited trim model foot well lights without cutting or splicing into the main instrument panel harness. Additionally, because this harness uses a plug in light vs. the crimp style found on the limited, the light modules can be changed to suit the orange or blue interior of early and late 5th generation 4Runners, or the owners preference. These lights will come on when the parking and/or headlights are on. Additionally, these lights will stay on when the headlights are left on and will shut off when the automatic headlight off timer runs out. The lights will dim or brighten alongside the dash illumination via the dimming switch on the lefthand side of the steering column. " Old Red.

 

I have no clue on the 4runners sorry I am of no help with that.

 

got the https://rightcarsolutions.com/ silicone plate holder, deff recommend it, especially that our plates its exposed on the body it self.

 

Maybe some of those 1989 Civic guys with $20k stereos and 20" Subs should get these so we don't have to hear their plate rattling on the back as they "bump" down the road! Haha!

Got ours on March 1, have 4750 miles. No problems, love the 4Runner!
