Dude, saw your rig at Home Depot yesterday and was checkin it out. Love it! I believe for the 4x dome lights, 4x door lights, 2x rear hatch lights, and 2 LP lights, I spent $70ish. I missed the vanity lights, but who the hell uses those anyhow? I was thinking about putting red bulbs into the vanity for a night driving light.

MUCH cheaper on EBAY I'm into my whole interior, door panel lights, vanity lights, everything for like 20 bucks and I have a butt load of bulbs left over. There's something to be said for higher end LED bulbs, don't get me wrong, but these do the job just fine.

it is such a nice upgrade too, easy pretty cheap and has a huge impact, they really should have come from the factory like this, especially the rear when it is opened at night.

The cutequeen dome lights are out of stock, can you post a link of another set that is compatible for the dome lights? I'm afraid I'll get the wrong ones

I am planning on doing the rails on ours shortly as well. We did the rear emblem white to match and we just did the fenders. I'll post up a picture in a moment for reference.

We need a nice day of sun to take some cleaner looking photos.
All the rain we have been getting lately has kept everything so gloomy and they are calling for buckets more the next 3 days!!

Anyway, here is what we've done so far with the plastidip.

Thanks man! Glad you like em.
I enjoyed the finish product myself.

We had a Tacoma which had the fenders blacked out, so we stole the idea there lol.

Where did you get your plastidip from? Anyone try the ones on Amazon? What about the spray gun?

I scored my gunmetal on Amazon came out great, it was about $11 for one can shipped with prime, but my neighbor claims Walmart has them for about $6 a can, I am not sure if its true I hate going to Walmart I just buy online.

Being in Canada I use Dipit.ca but in the US I would use the https://www.dipyourcar.com/
I have the little gun thing that you attach to the can, as I used to just use my finger but that got sore with the larger projects I've done lately.

I just picked up five cans of black because they didn't have anything but black and white. Going to do the rims, fenders, and roof rails as soon as possible.

The wheels will look awesome in black. Make sure to rotate them though once you have on about 4 coats, that way you can spray the undersides of the wheels evenly. I did this on the Tacoma and tried to cheat on the Tundra but paid for that mistake.

4 coats... drive it forward/reverse half turn of the wheel and apply remaining coats!

Thanks for the tip! Home Depot had them for $5/can. Got the spray grip for $2. Not too shabby.

Did you use one full can per wheel? How long between each coat? Anyone dip their roof rails? Any tips there?

It took about a can per wheel, and about 2 or 3 cans I think it was for the fenders.
I try to use the magic 7 coats total.

Apply first 2 very lightly to build a base to adhere to and then as you apply more the black will become prominent.
First coats are very light and like a speckling

And make sure that the spray cans are as warm as you can get them, without them being hot. The dip will spray smoother and more evenly. If they're cold you will get a textured finish. Some guys will take a bucket of hot water, and let the cans sit in there for a while

Finally got some new wheels and tires today! I'm very pleased the way she turned out. Hopefully will have a chance to de-chrome everything within the next month.

Took it to the dealers body shop to have the tailgate removed, repaired and repainted. 5 year old, garage door, door clicker open tailgate don't mix. Was gutted to see it. Hope it turns out well. Figures it'd be right after I redid the garnish and installed a classic 4 Wheel Drive badge. Ugh.
