I found out why the rear on your 4runner was high.

    • Toytec Rear Superflex Coils: - Our BOSS kits comes standard with Toytec RCC2.0 rear springs- These springs offer 2" of lift with stock rear weight with the best overall ride quality and rear articulation.
Looks like you got close to the 2 inches of lift you were supposed to get.

I went with the Eibach rears due to advertised lift of 1" same as in the link. I confirmed with Eibach and they are hopeful it will settle. Said he's never really seen this:alien:
In a month or so eibach is releasing an adjustable rear coil. I might go that route as it will give me the lift I want and if I tow long distance I could adjust them up, kinda like a manual air bag
Thanks for looking into this, appreciate it!

My experience is that I never took my rack off. The older Yakima's were a pain to remove and reinstall (had to remeasure things etc.). However with the newer system you could. But again, will you spend the time to remove the cross bars and things just to wash and wax an area of the car you never see? Again, I had my 2004 for 15 years and never waxed it. It looked OK and I don't think the trade in value would have been much more. But the question does remain, if wrapping the top is worth it. I haven't decided. $1,000 is a lot of money for something you can't see.

Maybe plastidip it for some protection or see what a vinyl ceiling wrap close to color of truck would cost...?

    @victoryrunner
Cam, how difficult is it to take your rack off once installed?
Can you just remove the corners and lift it off?
    Thanks in advance.

There's not really any need to protect the top of the truck, but if you really want to, 3M (and other companies I'm sure) make a clear protection film.
Washing the roof with the rack on is not too bad, just spray off the dust/dirt underneath. You could remove the front and rear fairings to make it easier. If you want to take the rack completely off, you would just remove the mounting bolts and lift it off. You will, however, have to remove any leftover silicone and reapply it when you reinstall the rack.

If you just want the rack out of the way to wash the roof, you could unbolt the mounting brackets from the rack, leaving the brackets mounted to the roof and then lift it off. You will need to be extra careful when reinstalling it though, as you won't have the brackets to rest it on until the bolts are back in.

    It's silver.
I found this pic of an Eibach runner online. Seems about same lift as mine? Maybe mine was low from the factory, dunno. Bottom pic is mine

C4 Summit Hatch Ladder installed. Directions said you need two people but with patience and caution it can be done with one. I cut a reflective square to put behind the supplied logo. I think I will swap out the stainless hardware for anodized black later though.

End result is a lot of light that has a great curb to curb spread. They are actually bright enough I’m looking forward to getting the lamin-x film getting here to tame it a bit with the yellow.

You don't need a lot of lift to look good. Less lift means more stability, lower COG This is when I was at 1.5" front and rear with a 295/70/17 Ridge Grappler. No rubbing, nothing but a fender liner mod. I'm now at 2.5" front and 2" rear. I kinda miss the lower look sometimes though.

Yep, super easy and if you over drill it they are like $10 for a new one. I did put a little silicone around the hole when I was done just to be sure. After lots of car washes, puddles and winter driving they are dry inside.

I bought 5’x2’ satin black 3M 1080 vinyl. I figured the wrap would turn out better than any painting or dip that I would do. Plus, it’s not permanent, so if I didn’t like it, it’d an easy reversal.

You might be able to get by with 5’x1’, I cut it a little large, and my scrap piece is about 11” wide.

Pardon my ignorance. I could go look it up...
I believe the high beams are a different buld... Is low beam just as bright as high now?
I have very few dark hours behind our T4R. I imagine the fog lights turn off while in "high" mode.
Is anyone changing those bulbs? Or are they used soo little that "high" beams are not needed.
I am looking at Morimoto fog lights & matching headlights (apparently 5k).

My high beams are still stock, I might change them with xenon depot LEDs later but for now I'm good with the lowbeam/foglight setup. I went with xenon depot over morimoto cuz I had xenon depot in my Tacoma and just love their quality! I'm sure morimoto is good stuff too
