I don't have a 4runner yet, but am planning on getting one. Has anyone tried removing the spoiler on their 5th gens?

I don't like the way the spoiler looks. Is there a reason it can't (or shouldn't) be taken off? Like I said, I don't own one so I haven't been able to look closely at how the spoiler is attached.

The 3rd brake light is attached to it, so if your state has inspections, they will fail you for not having one. But other than that, it looks do-able but definitely not recommended

Finally got tires and rims put on 275/70/17 w/ XD Machete -12 offset. They rub some so I had to cut the fender some..

Nip off the spikes that land on any hard plastic like the door jams and seat brackets, they'll sit perfectly without chewing into the interior panels.

Late night Sunday, convinced the wifey not to go with a Jeep Wrangler or a Sequoia, and got her to go with a 4Runner instead!!! She insisted on the third row option so I'm going to have to turn it into a "TRD SR5P". Bilstiens, TRD ORP wheels, BFG KO2's, and TRD PRO grill and valance all on order.

She's seen how great my Tacoma has held up and I know it helped sway her. As much as I love me DBCSB TRD Tacoma, I've really been eyeing these 4runners. So glad to add it to the family.

I've always liked the TRD grill on the 4Runner but that Tacoma grill looks really sharp. So sharp, it kind of lessens the impact of the TRD 4Runner grill. Both nice vehicles, just don't park next to each other. Kidding.

In all seriousness, I have an SR5 and was thinking about dropping $500 on the TRD grill kit, this pic has me reconsidering that. Again, still love the 4Runner TRD grill but the new Tacoma grill is really aggressive looking. Maybe I can get something like that for my 4Runner, someday.
