Wanted to touch base on this question again... I was close to pulling the trigger on an OEM, but then someone from the 5th gen 4runner FB group strongly suggested one from Cartrimhome.com - so I pulled the trigger (on just the center piece with letters, since the upper from the other was good quality). It still took some careful placement to set the letters, but the quality is way better (night and day improvement).

I also purchased the bar/gril/lights from them. The waiting is the hardest part.

I finished gluing my Rooftop shower together, sanded it down and bed-linered it. It holds pressure great- enough to get some nice water flow... I will test mount it and fill it up with water in the next day. It should heat up nicely and provide a shower or two when out adventuring.

Does KDSS affect mounting of sliders at all? Like are there kdss and non-kdss sliders?

kdss is part of your sway bars. it has nothing to do with sliders :)

Actually it does since the KDSS lines run down the frame and have skid plates to protect those lines and pump on the frame.

Here is a write up on installing C4Fab sliders...scroll down to the section about KDSS vs non-KDSS.

I put C4 sliders on my 2016 TEP with KDSS. Sliders were made with that option. Had to work around a few KDSS lines. Was able to do work bt myself without to much trouble in about 1 1/2 Hours.

Installed this sweet carbon fiber liscence plate surround. I can only hope for another 50+ hp out of this mod... LMAO
    Nope,
We actually plated the new girl & in the lovely state of Nebraska that is a bill to the tune of $4k. Those are some expensive stickers under there! Lol
Now the center console matches something! Haha20190408_201342.jpg

Just did the RSG sliders on my KDSS equipped ride last weekend.
Front skid comes off an you have to move the lines just a tad. Not hard at all. An they have even more protection with sliders!

Welp, I went to the tire shop today and set-up an appointment to put some 285's on. Really looking forward to this upgrade. Wish I could have done it sooner, but that's how I feel about all of my mods. I went with Firestone Destination A/Ts. They go on next week. Pics to follow.

I also just received the PlastiDip I ordered. Hopefully I can derp some emblems this weekend.

Installed the PT413-42191 toyota led fogs, fitment was perfect and also love the output, very sharp cutoff. just need to aim them a bit lower. but overall impressed.

    Hey all,

Saw the reference to canvasbacks regarding the modular storage system. I have a couple of dogs and want to learn more about the liner incorporated with the RAGO panels. I have the modular panels and the liner fabric is just the ticket to jumpstart the panel install. Can you good folks steer me to the product in this pick. Thanks in advance.

Added about 200hp today. Emblems came out fine, but the letters have bubble's (will try some old wall paper tricks on them or just remove them). Wish they did the letters in the same wet application as the emblems. Why is there no place to get black chrome badges for these things?

You can do any decal wet. Give a few days in The sun some will disappear - worst case you can needle the bubble and it should relax out

Since I'm waiting for the temperature to get back up to where I can paint I'm just doing some prep work for another project I decided to start before the others are finished.

Picked up a spare set of roof side rails and end caps. My plan was to paint the end caps black and then go get the rails either powder coated or anodized. The guy I bought them from seemed very knowledgeable and talked me into doing it myself using SEM-39143 Trim Black paint. I'm finding a lot of positive reviews for this stuff. Didn't sound like you even needed to coat it with a clear to protect it.

Has anyone here used it? Did you have good results? Any tips?

I don't have a heat gun so I decided to put the rail under some hot water for a couple minutes to get the position stickers off. Worked like a charm.

    20190412_172152.jpg

Note the gum container propping it up on one end. I didn't do that to the other side and the water got inside the rail and traveled all the way over the counter......doh

Almost done with my ride. I want to black out my roof rails and bumper valances. I was thinking the easiest way was to have them vinyl wrapped.
Last I was going to add CAI just because I can.
I want to add a TRD Pro skid plate but the dealer said there were issues installing it with the way they did my Ready Lift so I don’t know.
