Once you click to red and close the hatch...will it be red upon reentry or does it defualt to white?

 

Finished my wiring harness for my custom dual battery switch. Props to Antman for the schematics!

 

Started building my roof mounted solar powered shower. Still have to install my bicycle valve, assemble and paint with texture liner. Custom hose mounts to mount to my Gobi stealth are on their way from Axia Alloys.

Also picked up my Toytec springs from getting powder coated!

 

Well... I didn't build a subwoofer box... Was going to build my fiberglass box today. Did all the prep work; taped it off, taped it off some more, added the foil with even more tape; masked off all the rest of the area... cut up a ton of fiberglass into strips and patches... mixed a little bit of resin at a time and painstakingly added strips/patches, one at a time... hours of PITA work in all... was pretty much done with my first layer, the hardest part of the whole process... then while I was crawling back out, a piece of tape caught my leg and I didn't realize it, and that piece of tape pulled up through the still wet layers, and the whole thing basically collapsed on itself. All that work and effort, wasted in one dumb move. There was no undoing it, it immediately stuck to itself, and turned into a big useless dilapidated mass. Ripped everything back out in frustration. Coughing up $650 for the taco tunes box is suddenly looking like a not so terrible idea.

So here is my new custom built fiberglass box...

 

Yesterday I noticed the rear spoiler is rubbing the tailgate on the lower edges. It's already rubbed through the paint down to the primer. Thankfully no rust so an easy repair but I want to avoid it in the future. Anyone else run into this? What did you do to increase the gap there?

This is wear it's making contact. I lifted up on it to expose the area.

 

I wonder if a little circle of PPF film might prevent that from happening.

 

I think it would for a little while but would eventually wear through. The correct fix is to space it out somehow. I will dig into it Tuesday after work, take it apart, see what I can do to adjust it.

I would like to watch ours & make sure it doesn't start to rub.
Only problem is I cannot tell exactly where to look for the rubbing.
The close up pic is too close (for me) to tell what part it is exactly.
Could I possibly get pic of a bigger area & a circle around the part that is rubbing? Thanks.
I was washing ours when this came through & couldn't match the pics to our truck.

Well, I feel lazy on this area today.
I only detailed the truck & put the valve stem covers on finally. It was 40° here & need to plate before upgrading or I may be divorced! It took me a good 3 hrs to properly clean her.
This is my first black vehicle and I don't want to mess up the paint before we get the expel wrap.

 

Whole bottom of the spoiler on either side of the window. You have the black plastic panels next to the rear tailgate window and then the steel tailgate. The bottom of the spoiler rubs on the tailgate in that area.

 

Came out good but it’s not as good as the front. Will post pics in the morning when there’s light
The can I had was lower than I expected and my last coating had some spladder and I couldn’t dart off to the store.. was busy getting ready for a family cookout haha
All in all I like it a lot better than the chrome and am not sweating it. I tend to be overly anal about stuff.
Best part about derp is you can peak it off later if you so please

 

Blacked out the roof rack with Plasti Dip. Looks way better than the factory silver.

It did however bring up some questions...
1. What is the stock water forging depth of the 5th gens?
2. You look like you could drive in water to the rockers! What is your forging depth now?

Was your main concern water or dust?
