Not to sound sacrilege on Easter weekend, but had to buy a battery today to resurrect Casper. Went on a roadtrip yesterday. No issues yesterday. Then today, went out to go run some errands, dead

Got it boosted off from a battery pack. Drove to Kroger. Was inside for prob 30 minutes. Came out and cranked right up. Autozone was right there, so had them test battery.

    Bad cell.

So got a Duralast Gold battery. And that was just beginning of my issues.

Casper was VERY sluggish to turn over. I had my batter pack with me and boosted off.the new battery. Fired right up. So I figured drive around for 30 minutes and make it wasn't just a freak incident. Got home, turned It, off -- dead as a door nail.

Go get a quick bite before low blood sugar kicks in, but after that, go back to Autozone. Employee sees me pull back in and was out there with their tester. And sure enough-- bad battery (how my luck goes).

He changes it out, retest, and Casper fails to fire up. Try again without a boost off and we have lift off!

He finishes tightening up everything and off i go. Wasn't happy about buying new battery, but cheaper than alternator and it's installation.

After a couple of other errand running today, no more sluggish starts.

I installed the Magnuson S/C months ago, just getting around to the winch and bumper. In truth, the only real fabrication i needed to do was to hang the coolant hose under the radiator support and drill some holes to mount the intercooler pump out of the way. The Magnuson kit has everything needed for install, just need to be creative to make it work with a winch.

Installed a Sherpa Crestone rack. took a while, erector set by myself. Plastic covers on the factory rack brackets were a bitch to remove.

Have a canoe on order. Needed a better, full length rack.

But yeah these are very risky for SUV-sized springs. If you don't want to take it to a shop, at least use a heavier-duty version like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PQLRP8W

I messed that up! Put on a Sherpa crestone, got new 17" rims and tires, put some storage on the rack.
Going up to Main in June riding the logging trails.
